The Anchor In prides itself on their attention to details. From the helpful staff, to the wonderful breakfasts to the blanket throws down by the fire pit,all of the amenities made our visit very special.

Room Tip: Request a view of the harbor.

Checked into this hotel last minute and found the last available room was also an accessible room. The room was quite small, but it was clean and comfortable for a one night stay.
The morning breakfast room was clean, well supplied, with ample seating available. This area was not handicapped accessible, so we ate at one of the tables in the hallway overlooking the pool and harbor.
All staff were helpful and accommodating. Their recommendations for restaurants were perfect.
My next time in Hyannis, I would definitely call the Anchor In Hotel for a reservation.

Room Tip: Almost all rooms have a harbor view.

I don't know when I have been so delighted. The Anchor Inn is charm itself. My husband and I had never been to the Cape. We are so lucky to have found the Anchor Inn. Everything is done so well. The welcoming, caring staff, the beautiful grounds, with such lovely landscaping and lots of colorful flowers. Our room was spacious, decorated beautifully, and very comfortable and inviting. We had a great view as well. The breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious and the presentation was tops. The recommendations made by the staff for restaurants and activities were spot on and enhanced our vacation experience. The location of the Anchor Inn is also a plus, and Hyannis is a wonderful place. At the end of the day it was a pleasure to talk with other travelers around the fire pit. We appreciated our stay at the Anchor Inn a lot. We loved our first visit to the Cape and can't wait to plan our return.

Room Tip: All the rooms face the Harbor. The location of the Inn is a great spot for a good view.

Our honeymoon was on the cape and we finally made it back after 30 years. Our daughter booked the Anchor In for us for two nights. We were very impressed from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade to a room that had a better view of the harbor. Breakfast was wonderful. They do not use paper products and Nantucket baskets everywhere. The walk to the harbor for cruises, etc. is quick, saving on parking fees. When we returned to our room, we found that the staff had left a bottle of champagne and two glasses in our room! All staff members were very helpful and pleasant. The grounds and facilities are immaculate. We were even given a bag with water and salt water taffy to enjoy for our trip home. Definitely will return.

We stayed at this small hotel based mainly on ratings we saw on various hotel rating sites for the town of Hyannis. The front desk attendant as well as the other staff were cordial and very helpful. Our room was a traditional king and was very clean but otherwise average with a king bed, desk, easy chair, small refrigerator and flat screen TV. The mattress was extremely firm and uncomfortable for us. We asked the front desk if anything could be done and they quickly had housekeeping put a quilted mattress cover over the mattress which helped a bit. The pillows were very comfortable. TV worked well and the bathroom was well stocked, clean and functional and included a hair dryer. Housekeeping was excellent! Our room had two small problems, those being the smoke detector kept fall out of the ceiling base and hanging from it's wires. Also, the electrical outlet adjacent to the coffee maker, which had a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) kept tripping when any device was plugged in. So no coffee in the room. Both problems were reported to hotel maintenance but were not resolved during our stay (although maintenance did attempt to re-seat the smoke alarm which promptly fell out of the base by the next morning. Noise from the room above/adjacent was easily heard and so the sound proofing was disappointing. Overall, the hotel property was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was complimentary and served from 7-9:30 am. It consisted of four choices of dry cereal, bagels, muffins, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, deli ham slices, hard boiled eggs, assorted cheese cubes, juices and fresh coffee/tea. Seating was either in the adjacent library or in the glass enclosed hallway overlooking the pool. Very nice. They also served cookies and lemonade in the afternoon from 3-5 pm in the library. The pool was advertised as being heated, but we found the water quite cold (as did several other guests). Another 3-4 degrees warmer would have made a big difference in comfort. The hotel is located within walking distance to the ferry terminals that serve the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. About a 5-15 minute walk depending on which of two ferry companies you use. Also it was about a 15-20 minute walk to the shops and restaurants on main street and by the harbor on Ocean Street, so the hotel location is great. Overall, we felt the hotel was OK, but overpriced and in need of attention to detail.

Dear Valued Guest. Thank you for your detailed review. We are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied. Your guest room choice was a one of a kind Traditional guest room. We were sorry to hear that the bedding was not to your liking. The bed is of high quality and less than a year old. We did respond to your issue with the mattress being too firm to your liking immediately. We do our best to find a balance of not “too firm” versus not “too soft” when it comes to mattresses and based on our overall feedback we meet or exceed expectations a very large percentage of the time. We are sorry to hear that the smoke detector became detached from its base after we immediately reattached it. We have since replaced the entire unit. It should be noted that this was a cosmetic issue and certainly not a safety issue. We also addressed your concern with the electrical outlet and after several attempts we have not been able to duplicate your concern. We are sorry to hear that the pool water temperature was not to your liking. We maintain the outdoor pool water temperature between 80 and 82 degrees. Temperatures above this level have resulted in feedback that the water is too warm and not “refreshing”. It should be noted that the water is crystal clear and properly balanced in every respect for your comfort and safety. Overall… When looking closely at waterfront lodging options in Hyannis and on Cape Cod considering location, quality, service and price point you will find Anchor In second to none.

We just returned from a long weekend at the Cape and cannot say enough about our stay. The entire hotel is amazingly clean, both the indoor and outdoor spaces. Spacious room, very quiet. The day manager was so thoughtful, as were all of the staff, he arranged for champagne in our room for our anniversary. On our last day we did not have enough time to visit the nearby beach before check out, but he told us to go, relax and enjoy, which we did, then gave us a treat bag as we left. You do not find this level of service often. So many special touches, coffee and cookies, fire pit with blankets for guests, private balconies, homemade muffins at breakfast served by the hostess with a smile and greeting for everyone. Superior housekeeping, all so friendly. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Second floor room was very quiet, lovely breeze and view on private balcony.

This hotel is a really good place to relax and enjoy summer. The facilities and staff do what they can to make your stay enjoyable. Rooms comfortable, but getting a bit worn. Pool and fire pit area really nice. Great sea view from both.

Ferry tip: if you're going to Nantucket by the speed ferry (without vehicle) don't try to get parking by the terminal. Park at the hotel if you can, or at the lot at the "next door" restaurant on South Street.

Room Tip: Get a room on the second floor for more light and better sea views. But bring a sweater, it can get...
