We instantly fell in love with the Anchor In! Our room was warm and welcoming. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. The complimentary breakfast was above and beyond our expectations, but the highlight was the "Library" - a cozy room where we could relax and read, listen to classical music, watch t.v., play board games, and have a complimentary afternoon beverage! Since the weather was rather cold and stormy during our stay, I spent a lot of time working on a counted cross-stitch project!

Room Tip: There is no elevator, so if you are a senior citizen you might specify a room on the first floor!

This family run hotel is great, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Be aware there are no elevators so you will have to carry luggage up stairs or request first floor room. All the 2nd floor rooms that face the harbor have individual balcony with chairs for enjoying the view. Heated swimming pool and fire pit to enjoy at night. Very nice buffet breakfast with variety of fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, breads to toast and boiled eggs. Cookies in the afternoon in the library which also has games to play if weather keeps you indoors. Close to good restaurants and shopping and the staff is exceptional with any requests and giving recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Definitely will stay again.

We stayed in the Osterville room, no 140, for 2 days on our tour of New England. This was probably the nicest room we stayed in out of 12 hotels. It’s a large room with fantastic views across the marina and a large wrap-around balcony with a number of chairs. The room is well furnished with two large beds, comfortable sofa & chairs and a dining table & chairs. Pleased to find proper glasses in the room, rather than the plastic some hotels provide. The fridge was positioned with a small sink outside the bathroom. Pleased to find in mid-October that the outside heated swimming pool was still open, and we made use of this each day – it’s a good size, depth from 3’ to 8’, with large numbers of pool side chairs that must be very popular in the warmer months. In the evening there was a fire pit to sit around.
The guest lounge included a good range of drinks including lemonade and hot chocolate, welcome after a swim.
Breakfast was good with boiled eggs, ham, cheese, pastries, bagels etc.
The receptionist was very helpful, phoning a pizza take-away for us as we wanted to eat in.
The hotel is in a good position, just a short walk to the harbour, and the Main Street in town, both with a number of restaurants.

Room Tip: Osterville room is fantastic

My wife and I stay here s few weekends a year. Very clean rooms, beautiful harbor view and friendly accommodating staff. We highly recommend staying here. In the summer they have a nice outdoor pool and patio. Also a big gas fire pit. They also have a great continental breakfast!!

We stayed two nights at the Anchor In, and wish we’d been there longer! The room was very nice, and very spacious. The morning breakfast was especially nice, with great views of the garden, pool, and water while we ate. A great base to visit the Cape!
