Came here on the 4th with my wife for lunch and a drink. Have been to Baxter's a few times and have always liked the food, and the service is always good. This is a review for the 21+ side of Baxter's.
The experience you will have here will almost certainly be impacted by where you end up sitting. Personally, sitting outside on the deck is the best way to experience Baxter's! However, this only can really work if you are with one, maybe two people . This is because the first row of chairs at the front of the deck are all side by side with a small table in between some of them. Then there is second row about 5 feet behind the fist row. In total there are probably between 6-8 small tables and 15-20 chairs outside. So there really isn't a lot of space on the deck, which is really great if you are lucky enough to get a table!
I enjoy the beer they brew themselves, I think it's called Barney's? Very refreshing extra pale ale. They also have Naukabout and Cape cod beer. I think all their drafts are 6$. My wife loves the mixed drinks which are all about 9-12$ The food is pretty good too. Many fried options, most come with fries or rice pilaf. Several good appetizers too. Decent sized portions that can be shared. Its also not crazy expensive and I never leave feeling ripped off.
The staff here is also always really good too, drinks are always very quick to arrive. Baxters isn't the BEST food on the cape, but its good. And also is probably one of the best most relaxing places to sit outside and sip a drink (that's public). You can't go wrong at Baxters, just know in advance that it can be tough to get a table outside so plan accordingly!
