“Honeymoon at the Cape Cod Ocean Manor”
Reviewed 21 October 2007

We spent our 2nd Honeymoon at the Cape Cod Ocean Manor and we will never forget our wonderful experience! The room was nicely decorated and very clean. The staff was very attentive and friendly! The breakfast consisted of a choice of cereals, assorted fresh fruit, bagels, juices, fresh hot coffee, teas and delicious homemade muffins that Sandralee the Hostess bakes every morning! We had spectacular views of Nantucket Sound and beautiful birds along the salt marshes. The beaches were so close, we chose to walk or bike ride every morning. The town has many reasonably priced restaurants to choose from. The ferries are very close to the Bed and Breakfast so we visited Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket by ferryboat. The location is perfect. The Hostess, Sandralee is a doll and so are the girls. We can't wait to go back!!!

  • Liked — The Staff, the lovely room with views and the hot muffins!
  • Disliked — We loved everything!

his was just an OK place to stay. We had issues with the shower and turning it off. Also, we never saw a single person working here until we checked out in the morning. Our key was left in an envelope on the door of the office when we arrived at 2:00 p.m. even though the check-in time was 3:00 p.m.

The breakfast wasn't that great. The muffins were soggy and the coffee was an instant coffee.

Once nice touch was that there were wine glasses and a wine opener in the rooms, which we took advantage of. There was also a microwave and mini fridge in the room, great for taking leftovers back.

It has a view of a bunch of condo/apartment units across the street. The ocean is a distance away, and you could probably only see it on a really clear day.

The beds were very hard and covered in sheets that survived the 80's. One of the windows was just covered by a piece of lace, which made the room bright in the morning. Also, the screen door that lead to the "deck" was broken.

Would I stay here again? Probably not. I'd try another place out.

  • Liked — The Wine Glasses and Opener
  • Disliked — Didn't see any staff member until we checked out.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Ocean manor. i was very sceptical, but it was a great place. I WAS LOOKING FOR FLAWS BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY.here is my detailed review. I had room NO 5

THE GOOD.

On Arrival we were given a warm welcome, with tea and cookies.
The folks were very very flexible as to our times and very accomodating, even let us park before we checked in and after we checked out so we could use the beach.
ROOM 5 , was large Cozy and had the most comfortable KING bed. Linens were high quality and pristine clean. You could tell it was freshly laundered. carpets were clean, and bathroom and towels were like any fine hotel.Soap and towels provided.
Room had distant ocean views and small balcony you can sit out on. Ocean Breezes right in the room if you open windows.
Bathroom is small but ULTRA clean, not a speck of dust or dirt.shower curtains clean as were the tiles.
Room has fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, great cable tv(foodnetwork, all major networks, disney , Nick ) phone, iron, hairdryer
Breakfast is muffins, fruit, cofeee, juice , and a variety of cereals.
MUFFINS SPECIAL MENTION - they are made from scratch mixed berry and chocolate chip , being a gourmet cook i can vouch for their fabulousness! no wonder every one raves about them.
The Deck is large and relaxing, and the Marsh at the back of the house is in a strange way relaxing too.
DONT BE PUT OFF BY THE SIZE OF THE HOUSE OR THE SMALL FOYER.Hosts are welcoming and so very helpful with local info. Sandra lee is lovely.

THE BAD - ( and i am really nitpicking here )

small foyer and reception area. Room had a lot of fake flower arrangements which need not have been there, bedlinens do not match the room and i did not like the color .
the site boasts ocean views, yes it does have ocean views but the ocean is in the distant, not like just outside the window .

BEACHES.

VETERANS BEACH PARK. - is really just opposite the bed and breakfast across teh road.it is partly the marina and had calm waters nice for kids. has place to shower change and lifeguard, toilets. large picnic area /park . no waves.

KALMUS BEACH ( public beach) - is a large large Beach stretch.
big waves, clean beach ,snack bar, bathrooms, shower , life guards. It is the best beach in Hyannis . Fine white sands and really a wonderful place for swimming as well.
In August it was Not at all crowded the two days we were there, (one day it was cloudy though) but not the crowds i had heard of ,unlike the packed craigville beach. It is the same as craigville beach which we visited as well but we liked this better.

now here is the best part , this great beach is only 4 minutes or less walk from the Ocean manor, how cool is that?
with 2 kids, strollers and all beach paraphanelia it took only 4 minutes. i was so thrilled about this location.
Restaurants, marina , ferries are all within walking distance of this bed and breakfast.

So give this place a try , it's not the height of luxury but we had a great sleep and more than anything it felt like home and the hosts were very accomodating and nice . I WILL BE GOING BACK FOR MY MINI BREAKS THERE AGAIN. it is so clean and comfortable and that is important to me .

  • Liked — Beach Location, Great hosts, cleanliness.MUFFINS
  • Disliked — fake flowers in room

My boyfriend and I spent this past weekend at the Ocean Manor and absolutely loved it! The location was absolutely Unbeatable!! You are a 5 min walk to the beach and a 10 min walk to Main Street where all the action is! Sandra Lee was so incredibly sweet and treated her guests like her own family. Her breakfast muffins were delish! And we ate on our own private balcony. Our room was super cute and had an amazing ocean breeze blowing through. We will definitely come back, we love this place!

My wife and I stayed at the Cape Cod Ocean Manor in mid June for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The room (#3) was spacious, clean and comfortable. The views of the salt marsh and the ocean in the distance were terrific. It was great relaxing on our private balcony and just taking in the views. Within walking distance to 2 beaches and the ferries. Breakfast was simple and good and it was nice to enjoy it on our balcony. We would definately return.

Hello,
My son and I spent the weekend at this charming bed and breakfest called the Cape Cod Ocean Manor. We enjoyed the experiance so much that we decided to leave a review on this web site.
The property is right next to a couple of beaches in Hyannis and our favorite was a very short walk across the street. The room we stayed in was very lovely and clean with excellent views of the marshland and the Atlantic Ocean. I loved watching the large variety of birds that inhabit the wetlands.

Our hosts Ashley Battle and Sandra Champoux were very kind and gracious. They were extremely helpfull and provided us with an excellent breakfest of cerials, juices and muffins.

Although we were there in the off-season we found plenty to do. We both enjoyed driving along the coast line and walking on the beaches taking pictures and collecting shells. The JFK and Korean War Memorials were also right across the street and were very impressive.

Overall our stay was excellent and we are looking forward to returning there during the summer.

Sincerely,
CJ and EJ

DATE: OCTOBER 29TH,2006 We Checked Into The CAPE COD OCEAN MANOR MY Husband & I. Which Is A Beautiful MANOR, The Bushes Still had Red flowers bloomimg from them. When you walk in the hallway it is so cute It is set up with a glass countet top that has complimentary cookies & teas. That has a nice welcome gesture, They have a wicker basket that is full of teas from all over the worId It is so nice for tall. They had halloween candy in a hand cut glass dish, We felt so welcomed..They greet you @ the door with a smile & a helping hand with whatever you may need. The room we stayed in was an OCEAN VEIW room with breath taking sites, You can sit on the KING sized bed & see a large portion of the ocean. What a large site to see especially the NANTUCKET SOUND IS BEAUTIFUL & The marsh land had some interesting birds, I saw a bird that was all red& ducks in the marsh diving for fish. IN addition they have an over sized deck out in the back where you can see it all from that deck. I know the room had it all microwave, cable t.v. VCR & DVD, WIRELESS internet service If you don't have one no problem they allow you to rent the new lap top, It is well worth it if you forgot yours..Private bath which is decorated fine, The rooms smell sweet, VERY CLEAN place we never stayed in one so clean before. WE are going back to the OCEAN MANOR every chance we get to go away. The best part is everything is close including the ferry TO NANTUCKET & MARTHA'S VINEYARD is down the street about 15 MIN.walk & 3 MIN drive why bother if you have to pay to park there on the lot. You can leave your car @ the MANOR for free & walk. The beaches are awesome one is located directly across the street from the MANOR it is called VETEREN'S BEACH WOW it has the HYANNIS YACHT CLUB right on the beach like on the edge of the water & a big ole dock.. The park is next to the beach side by side how nice the KOREAN & KENNEDY WAR MEMORIAL, IN addition to the park they have grills located on the park grounds for cook out's What a fantastic family place. The other beach you can actually walk from VETEREN'S BEACH to the larger beach which is KALMUS. that has it all,.. WE ended our night with a fantastic restaurant named THE ROAD HOUSE CAFE , WOW what a great price for the amount of food, mouth watering, indeed, The service is UNREAL. We came back to the room to see fancy glasses of wine on our table what a great way to end such a perfect night We woke in the morning to be greeted by a CONTENENTIAL BREAKFAST We had homemade muffins WHICH BY THE WAY ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Cereals a wide variety was offered& A big ole bowl of fruit, what a variety, The coffee was awesome fresh brewed. Well worth the money folks IF you want comfort & price that is right & nice location. We strongly advise THE CAPE COD OCEAN MANOR. We are back here now folks for a short stay a little mini vaca..FROM JANUARY 31ST TO FEBUARY 4TH 2007. THIS TIME OF YR is still nice scenery & most of all quiet much needed, peace. LOVE THIS PLACE. It is an all star place. come on down!! we just bought a new home & currently are from lowell, ma. 01852
