“Nice location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

The hotel is in a great spot - right across from the harbor for ferry crossings to Nantucket and the Vineyard. The outside area is great with a pool, covered seating, dining area and bar/lounge. The room was bit out of date, but very clean. The staff was great throughout. Distance to Main Street is a casual walk but, unless you are willing to trek about 20-25 minutes to the Kalmus beach, a car ride would be suggested. We will stay here again, for sure!!

I was originally going to book a name brand hotel off the strip and at the last minute changed my mind and book the Hyannis Harbor Hotel. The main issue I was having was parking. We had our 28 foot moving truck and Dodge Ram truck with us as we were completing a move in Boston and decided to spend two days in Hyannis Port first. Hyannis Harbor stated they could accommodate our truck with ease.

Check in a fast and simple. Parking the 28 foot moving truck was not a problem. The hotel grounds are large and well maintained. It appears that over the years the hotel has gotten several more additions, thus adding on more rooms. So its kind of chopped up and we had a bit of difficulty finding our room. It was kind of annoying there is not an elevator as we had to walk up and down the stairs several times a day. Not a issue, but we did have a large suitcase and travel bag each. We brought 3 friends along, we rented two rooms.

I love the fact the balconies to the rooms are large and they put out several plastic chairs so you can sit and enjoy the large ships coming and going. The view is not absolutely perfect but good enough. The location was excellent. Not far from downtown. We drove and parked, but you can easily walk it.

The rooms are a little small, but the beds are comfortable and we slept well. A few spots of mildew on the tile under the soap dish in the bathtub, only visible if you take a bath like I did.

The fire pit is a nice place to sit and relax. Tons of outdoor seating.

I would have given it five stars but I was charged for parking. It was not mentioned when I called concerning my moving truck. And I even asked this as some hotels do charge extra for the truck, it does take two spots instead of one. I did not see the sign in the lobby and I notice everything. At check out I was handed the bill for both vehicles for per day parking. And then all of a sudden the parking sign that was tipped over was up righted for my vision.

Thank you for being our guests at the Hyannis Harbor Hotel and writing such a great review. We are pleased to hear that our staff, our amenities, and the hotel itself met/exceeded your expectations.

Adjacent to the Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard ferries, our harbor location makes us Hyannis’ most complete and convenient vacation destination, whether you are staying put to enjoy our extensive amenities or venturing out to explore the Cape and the Islands. Our guests enjoy the hotel’s amenities including our indoor and outdoor pools, outdoor fire pit, out door deck and recently renovated lobby with a business center workstation. In addition, the Blue Water Grille, our seasonal harborside restaurant and bar is a perfect choice for cocktails or dining.

Although we have chosen to adopt a nominal fee for parking, our parking charges are consistent with that of the other hotels in the Hyannis area. In addition, the parking charges are outlined on both our hotel website and well as in the terms and conditions section of your reservation.

We hope to see you again soon!

Spent a weekend here and loved how they have updated the outside area. Beautiful pool and nice fire pit area. The restaurant is comfortable and you can sit on the deck and watch the ferry boats come in and out. The rooms are a bit dated but definitely clean.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the front outdoor area. The rooms in back have small balconies and face a...

We've come here a number of times over the years, and it's gradually improved into a great hotel. The new firepit and pool areas are such nice places to have a drink. Staff at check-in and the restaurant were both warm and friendly. The location is perfectly located—so close to so many great restaurants and across the street from the ferry to Nantucket. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hyannis!

Was extremely pleased with location across the street from the harbor. The outdoor pool and fire pit were great for meeting people from all over. Will recommend this hotel to others and look forward to our next stay.

Many reviews of this hotel mention the age of the rooms. The structure is old but it is clean. The bedding (most important to me) is crisp, white, and fresh. And the pool and restaurant and location make up for an awkward room that you're hardly ever in. The kids love playing life size chess on the beautiful lawn and swimming in the clean pool and enjoying lunch onsite. We love walking across the street to board the ferries, walking to veterans beach (youngest child is 5 and it isn't a bad walk) and even walking down to main street to enjoy less expensive restaurants than those found in the harbor.
The kids also love walking across the street to the harbor during the evening to watch the work boats unload their fish and clams while we enjoy strolling through the local artists' tents.
We are diamond Hilton members (only mention because we are in nice hotels a lot and treated well). Nice television. Cable. Plush robes. Friendly staff and everything you need within walking distance. Can't beat it! This was our second visit to Hyannis Harbor Hotel and we will definitely stay again.

We went to the outdoor restaurant at the hotel and it was horrible. Ordered clam chowder, not one clam in it and tiny in size. Ordered buffalo chicken fingers, were rubbery, tiny, and looked uncooked. Avoid the sangria, it is as if it were poured directly from a commercial brand from a liquor store. Overall I would avoid this place other than the nice scenery. Go to trader eds instead, it is across the harbor and walking distance.
