You can drive to the top of the mountain and walk around. Scenic views, lodge with food and snacks, a historic monument. You can take a longer hike on the Appalachian trail as well.

Visiting Mount Greylock is a great activity because you can either drive all the way to the top or hike up part of it. Depending on where you park, you can choose how long of a hike you want. There are also numerous trails, so you can select a hike that is easy, medium or difficult. We ended up hiking ~7 miles roundtrip and the trails were in mostly good shape -- some were a bit muddy from water running through them the previous day. The views from the top are very nice, and it is a great spot for a picnic.

Visited beginning of June 2014, weather was clear and beautiful. Views of Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire were spectular. Easy drive up on great roads and lots of parking. Restrooms at summit house were ok atbest, and food was NOT cheap. That why only a VG rating.. Parking is 2>00 for residents and 3 for out of state. Veterans is free

The road from Adams is in great shape. What a nice ride up to the summit. The view is really dramatic. Then took the South route back to Lanesboro. This is a really nice park. I want to experience the lodge when open.

This is the highest mountain in Massachusetts. You can drive your car up (weather permitting) or hike to the top and experience awesome views. There are many hiking and walking trails that are easy, moderate, and hard depending on your liking. If you go to western Mass you need to explore Mount Greylock !! I live in Pittsfield, MA and it never gets old. Happy trails !!
