“Amazing views, good hiking, a natural wonder”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

We took the family hiking here a couple of times during our trip. The parking lots are free unless you drive right up the summit and the paths are well marked. Being on a mountain, every path we tried was a bit challenging, but the lovely waterfalls and views were well worth the effort!

“Nothing else like it in Massachusetts”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Husband and I visited a few times for birding/walking. I didn't do much hiking due to a knee injury, but still very much enjoyed the visit. The many scenic overlooks on the road to the top are definitely worth it. Even though it was misty when we drove up, it was still a really enjoyable trip. We didn't get the best views, but the mist gave the whole place an unearthly feeling, very peaceful. Excellent birding. Blackburnian Warblers are almost common! Veerys singing--I can never get enough of their haunting song. Gorgeous Black-throated Blue Warbler. And so on.

The pictures, while beautiful, cannot do this place justice. It is a must see with your own eyes kind of place.

“top of the mountain”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

It is about 8 miles to drive to the top of Mt. Greylock, so leave enough time... since the speed limit is only around 25-30 mph. It is a beautiful view. We took a picnic lunch and blanket. It was a little windy and is a little cooler, so you may need a light jacket. It was worth the drive! Both my daughters (20 & 22 yrs) enjoyed it too.

“Divine and Human Cooperation”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Second time we drove over Mount Greylock. Began our trip in North Adams. The narrow roads with their hairpin turns kept us at a pace where we were able to savor the beauty of the area--so many shades of green. So lovely. We stopped at many of the look-off spots and loved the beautiful views of the valley and small clusters of homes with larger communities in the distance. Stopping in the War Memorial Park, we toured the lodge and chatted with hikers who had been on the Appalachian Trail for several months. Amazing! Then we began our descent, once again pausing at convenient spots to appreciate the beauty of creation. We came out at Hancock. This is a drive (ore hike, or bike ride) to be commended to all who love nature and the manifold attractions of God's hand in bringing it into being. In this case he and human beings have co-operated in a spectacular production!
