We spent three nights at Chambery Inn. The building is an original French inspired 19th century school, sympathetically restored and converted to a genteel bed and breakfast inn. Our room "La Chambre Schoolhouse Suite", retains an original blackboard across one wall. With 13 ft ceilings and seven 7 ft windows the suite is filled with light and has a spacious feel. The king canopied bed is luxurious and ensures a sound sleep. There is a gas fire for those who visit in the cooler weather and air conditioning to keep you cool. The suite provides a generous amount of space and is furnished with dark wood period pieces, two winged armchairs and a sofa. To add to the sense of indulgence there is a whirlpool tub. Breakfast arrives at your door in a basket and fresh baked cookies are available in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to return if given the opportunity. For the sake of the inkeeper I would make a couple of minor suggestions. The breakfast menu left for guests to choose one selection from each group is the type used by motels. It is confusing and creates an impression of stinginess which is not at all the case. The first morning the breakfast was of a higher standard and included a large amount of fresh fruit and berries. My other suggestion would be to replace the iron and add some padding to the ironing board. This seems to be an area neglected by a lot of hotels and b&bs in this country. Because we are travelling for an extended period we may be using this facility more than other guests. Overall Chambery Inn is at the top of our list with a couple of other inns we've had the pleasure of enjoying during our road trip over the last 3 weeks.

We've stayed in fall, winter, & spring, so far. Will definitely return for a summer visit. This is a great place in every manner. Beautifully translated from schoolhouse to inn. Unique rooms and well-appointed. Very friendly and helpful staff. It really re-sets our frame-of-mind. Simple and quiet. Just a two-minute, pretty walk across the small town street to one of our favorite restaurant:s: Chez Nous.

My husband & I had never been to this Inn. Shame on us! It was beyond anything that we have ever seen. We had a huge king size bedroom on the first floor. It haMy d a gas fireplace, a couch, a cocktail table, a gigantic whirlpool bathroom, and a small balcony. The decor was beautiful, they have every detail covered. It was an amazing room, that we loved. The staff was absoulety devine. The minute we walked in, felt like we had been there already! They made us feel right at home. We shopped for antiques all day and had a spectacular french dinner at Chez Nous. We did not even have to drive, it was right across the street.

Our first stay was the first two nights of our honeymoon. Charming old schoolhouse with beautifully appointed rooms that have blackboards filled with messages left behind by previous occupants. Breakfast delivered quietly to your door in a basket makes this a perfect sanctuary for a romantic getaway. One of our favorite places in the entire world.

My daughter and I stayed at Chambery Inn for 3 nights and loved it. The room was wonderful and had a fireplace and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was great after hiking and walking all day. The receptionist Tonya was so wonderful, she helped by telling us was available to do in the
area(some of the attractions were closed), the restaurants in the area and one night made great cookies for the guests. We loved the breakfast in the basket in the morning, since we didn't have to rush to get dressed to have breakfast which made it very relaxing in the morning. The inn was spotless and well worth the price, especially in the Berkshires. I have stayed at several other
hotels in the area over the past 15 years and this is definitely the best. I can't wait to return and I am telling everyone about the place.

Room Tip: The location is great since you can walk through the town and enjoy lunch or dinner w/o getting in t...
