Description: Chez Nous is a chef- and pastry chef-owned operation where the focus is on real, seasonal ingredients prepared in both modern and classic ways. We offer half portions of many items, to encourage lots of tasting and variety, and we take care to prepare as many items gluten-free and dairy free as possible, leaving lots of choices for everyone. Our 1841 house has charm and comfort, and our newly-renovated bar is the perfect place to have a local craft beer, wine from our award-winning list, or a creative cocktail, along with bar snacks, our famous pate, or anything from our dinner menu.

We have been going to Chez Nous since it opened many years ago. We visit in both summer and winter when we are vacationing in the Berkshires, and each time we are so glad to be returning. The food is always excellent, fresh ingredients served creatively. The staff and owners are warm and welcoming. The desserts are really special so make sure you leave room for dessert. I recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a high quality meal in a very pleasant setting.

We decided to try this place while on a trip to the Berkshires. We made a reservation for 6:15 on a Tues. (8/9/11) but could have walked in at that time. On the other hand, half an hour later the place was full. Service was great while the place was only partially full but was a little spotty when it filled up. The server herself (Melissa) was great even so. Just busy so not quite as attentive as we or she would have liked and she apologized for that. We were not bothered by it.

The food was great. Helen had the duck and I had the organic chicken. Both were perfectly prepared, very tasty and perfect portions. It left enough for us to split a chocolate desert which came with a rum soaked financier (which we though might end up being the little guy from Monopoly). It was wonderful and a perfect cap for the meal. They also have a great wine selection and you can buy wines by the bottle and the half bottle as well as the glass. We tried one of the discovery wines (they have a special list of these) and were very happy with our choice.

All in all a wonderful place we would frequent again if in the area.

Food is beyond perfection! Everything is fresh. Some dishes are trusty comforts (corn souffle, chowder), steak with french fries) and others are creative new ideas (trout with bok choy)-- the wait staff has good knowledge and guides you throough to a happy choice. Presentation is flawless. Wait staff is attentive without being intrusive. Desserts are a must, the blondie sundae wowed us and the special fruit tart was delectable. The owners stopped by to check on our evening. It was a fabulous experience. We have been back twice since with equaly stellar meals.

Great French food! Service is also great. Servers that night all French. Knew the menu and answered questions without extra talk. Kept our glasses filled with cold icy water and were not stingy with the rolls. Seats comfortable too.
Found ourselves next to a party talking very loudly. The owner's wife noticed this and asked us if we wanted to move. What a surprise.
If you are in the area, please make sure you go here. You will not be disappointed.

We dined at Chez Nous based on a Trip Advisor recommendation and the recommendation of friends who visit the Berkshires regularly (so how could we go wrong). We were not disappointed. Service was very good and the meal in general was superb...but try those Mussels. We have dined on Mussels in many restaurants in many places, but there was something about THOSE Mussels...perhaps the sauce? You try it. You figure it out. You wont be disappointed.
