We recently stayed at the Morgan House in Lee, MA as part of a weekend trip to Tanglewood. Most hotels/Inns in the Stockbridge area require longer stays/higher rates. This was our 2d stay at the Morgan House; but 1st under the new owners. The hoel is old but comfortable. No elevaors or anything like that so if you are staying on 3d floor, you need to walk up the stairs-no big deal unless you are elderly or carrying lot of stuff. Accomodations are comfortable and clean. The dining oom serves lunch and dinner and provides decent menu selection. The quality was good. There is a lounge for drinks if you want to hang out after dinner. I recommend the Morgan House for Berkshire travels - 20 minutes to Tanglewood, 10 or so to Stockbridge. Near Mass Turnpike (Exit 2-Route 20).

Room Tip: If you have problems with stairs, ask for lower floor Dinner reservations can be made at the desk.

We stayed in a small room at the top of the Morgan House Inn. The room had a double poster bed and was clean and comfortable, for the price of USD140 per night, which is less than that for other rooms in the Berkshires. However, the bathroom is shared amongst 6 people. This was not a problem actually - the only irritatant was the bathroom door which could not be easily locked as it was pretty old, and one had to lift up the door slightly each time to lock it. In addition, as it's an old house, the walls are paper thin and you can hear people talking and sounds of the TV, which can be problematic if you are not a sound sleeper. Nonetheless, the proprietor is friendly, the location is good and everything worked smoothly.

The restaurant was excellent - good American cuisine at its best. The meatloaf was delicious, selection of wines good, and service was friendly and attentive. The setting was cosy and comfortable and we really enjoyed the food.

Room Tip: The larger rooms look much more comfortable.

Quaint, romantic atmosphere. The french onion soup and the chili are, by far, the best we have tasted. The calamari was light, not chewy and mixed well with an original 'salsa'. My husband ordered the meatloaf. Do not expect your mother's meatloaf; this was two stars above your mothers best. We can not wait for our next trip through the Berkshire's!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch after a day of shopping at the outlets mall. The Inn itself is quite charming and the staff are lovely. Meals are reasonably priced and they have a nice selection of beer on tap. We ordered the fish sandwich and the ham and brie sandwich - both were good, but a bit greasy (particularly the ham and brie - it was really loaded up with toppings and hard to eat). The fries were GREAT. I recommend if you're looking for someplace with character in Lee.

We are local to the Berkshires and very glad that the new owners of the Morgan House have brought it back to the cozy, friendly gathering place that we have all enjoyed over the years. The atmosphere and menu are clean, fresh and comforting while still maintaining the old world charm of a country inn. Cheif Ron, former White House Chef to the Clinton Administraion, is creative and fastidious about cleanliness and food quality. He prepares comfort foods like Roast Turkey Dinner, Fish n Chips(awesome), Killer Burgers w/ Hand Cut Frys, and the Meat Loaf Sandwich is to dye for, but also offers plenty of exciting entries like Baked Haddock served on bed of sauted spinach and fennel- OMG! You won't leave hungry, the portions are very generous! We very frequently pop in for lunch on our days off and dinner either by ourselves or with family and friends. The Tavern is cozy and fun with a long bar, several high top tables and a grouping of other tables that flow aroung the corner out onto a very sunny enclosed porch that looks over main street. The dining room is on the opposite side of the entry (which has a great wood burning fireplace) it's spacious and relaxed, accomodating large dinning parties while still feeling cozy. The little room in the front window is my favorite, it feels like a private dining room! The service in either the Tavern or Dining Room is alway top notch, freindly, welcoming and efficient.

The food is excellent!!! The Bartender/Host (Drew) was very friendly! We sat at the bar and enjoyed a delicious lunch, so tasty - - - we came back for dinner. If you like fresh fish I highly recommend the Fish and Chips…..lightly breaded Haddock with an awesome tartar sauce. You must try their homemade potato chips - - - and if you like Bloody Marys, another must. Owners and staff made us feel like we were at home. If you are looking for a down to earth feel this is the place to be. Location is perfect, next to everything. We will we be back!!!

Arrived minutes after kitchen closing, invited to enjoy a meal nonetheless. Our waitress was pleasant (after a long shift of lunches and dinners), the owner, helpful in finding accommodations. Highly recommended.
