We really enjoyed our stay at the Kemble Inn. The innkeepers were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable and attractive. The only downside is we found breakfast undistinguished.

We were certain that we would never return to this fabulous, conveniently located inn after our experience 2 years ago. But then we saw it had been sold and decided to give it another try. And what a difference! Despite the fact that it is in the midst of transition --fabulous renovations and interior decorating-- and a bit of a frenzy in the process, we felt welcomed and home from the minute we arrived! Located in the heart of Lenox-- near Shakespeare & Co,, The Mount and Tanglewood and walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping, The Kemble Inn also looks out onto beautiful vistas from it's back porch. We were lured back by a summer midweek special --1/2 price! But hope to return really soon to see just how gorgeous this place will be! (And to sample more of Sylvia's "melt in the mouth" chocolate truffles!)

The Kemble Inn changed hands 8 weeks before we arrived. The new owner is anxious to please and has wonderful ideas. The setting is lovely and work has already begun to update and beautify. Breakfasts were ample and delicious; the coffee is wonderful. Beverages and snacks were available throughout the day. The inn is situated within walking distance of Lenox center and Shakespeare & Co., yet one feels miles away from civilization when relaxing on the porch or in the spacious yard. We will definitely return.

We stayed at the Kemble Inn for an overnight. The location is only two minutes by foot if you wish to visit the downtown galleries and shops, which is one thing my wife and I wanted to do. Also, the location is only 1.6 miles from tanglewood, which was the main reason for going to Lenox. The inn also has a large backyard with a terrific view of the mountains, should you want to soak in a little sun.

Scott, his mom, and a few others have taken over the Kemble Inn from the Wicked Witch of the West and have started to breathe unbelievable new life into the inn. We stayed over the weekend Aug 1-3 for two nights and were awed by the commitment of the new owner to turn the Kemble into a world-class property. My wife and I have been visiting Lenox for decades (she a decade or two longer than I) and have stayed at the Inn many times during the two previous owners. We visited the Inn last year just as Bosa was (unknown to us) throwing in the towel. We regretted the stay and vowed never to go again. Then, I get an email asking us to come back and visit. So, with great trepidation we went earlier this month. WOW! Humans greet you and are nice, lobby is redone, full breakfast is wonderful and personal, rooms are being upgraded as time goes by, and the staff is delightful. Is this the old Kembel Inn? Not by a long shot. This is the way an Inn should meet, greet and care for the visitors. We'll go back and we don't expect all the miracles to happen at once, but we'll take each one as it happens. Couple of details: eat breakfrast out on the back patio. Food is home made, fresh and I want more and got it. No counting of cereal boxes here, my friends. By the way, the lemonade and cookies are made by mom. Wlecome back, Kemble.

Located in Lenox, Massachusetts, The Kemble inn, set on several acres of beautiful landscaping, a mere stroll from the town center, and a short drive to many of the area's cultural venues, has a very warm and hospitable staff, large comfortable rooms, an expansive back porch on which you can enjoy your daily breakfast. The new owner goes out of his way to make your stay a happy one. Pitchers of cold drinks, cookies or cake and fruit are on a table in the entrance hall to welcome you day and evening. Breakfast is a self serve buffet but there is always someone who will come to refill your plate or coffee cup should you need it. And the idyllic Berkshire Mountain setting from the back of the inn, viewed from the porch or a lounge chair on the lawn, is enough to make you want to stay there and relax all day.

We're happy to post a review of the Kemble Inn, where we enjoyed a long weekend within walking distance of Tanglewood and Shakespeare & Co. The inn is grand, with high ceilings, lots of light, and an open, airy feel. Our room was comfortable, with a luxurious featherbed and a fireplace I'd love to come back and use in winter. We enjoyed buffet breakfast (but with plenty of personal attention) on the porch overlooking the lawn, with a wonderful view.

The location couldn't be better: an easy stroll into town, to our concert at Tanglewood, and to a play opening at Shakespeare & Co.

Our friendly hosts told us of plans for the future, including nights of piano music by the fire in the pleasant downstairs common room. We look forward to our return!
