Our first visit to this lovely old inn. We had a spacious reasonably priced room which included a sumptuous breakfast - not your usual fare. Home-made muffins and very creative offerings on a daily basis. Extremely hospitable owners and staff. Our best stay in Lenox over the many years we have visited the area.

Room Tip: If you can- get a room that opens out into the back garden areas

Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. We're so glad you enjoyed your time with us, especially since you have had the pleasure to stay in Lenox numerous times. We are quite spoiled in our location and our amazing chefs who can create tasty and unique offerings on a daily basis.

We hope you choose to stay with us again next time you visit the Berkshires!

Cheers,
Nell

We are a family of 5 and had a great 4 night stay at the Cornell Inn. Tim and the entire staff were incredibly friendly, personable and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and had something for everyone. The outdoor patio and surrounding grounds were very inviting. Location is great, walkable to town and restaurants with beautiful Kennedy Park next door. We stayed in the Mamie room which was the biggest they had; a little tight for 2 adults and 3 teenagers (which we were forewarned) but with the staff's help in setting up the room, we managed fine. Thanks to TIm for really looking after us. We highly recommend the Cornell Inn.

Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. I'm glad your entire family was able to to enjoy all that the Berkshires have to offer. You are correct in that is is difficult to find a room in Lenox, in one of the historic B&B's that can fit an entire family of 5 vs. having to book 2 separate rooms, especially during peak season, but I'm so glad everyone worked together to make Mamie a good fit for your family.

We hope you come back for another visit down the road-

Best Wishes

My wife and I recently stayed three nights here. We were charmed by the historic structures with quirky dips and curves in the floors and stairways. We had a room with a small but adequate private bath and a private exterior stairway. Breakfast food was wonderful with a wide variety of tasty cooked pastries, egg dishes, and fresh fruit. The grounds are shaded and cool with a lovely breeze and plenty of outdoor seating and porch rockers. There's a small pub where a cold pre-dinner beer or glass of wine can be found for a reasonable price. The Inn is a short walk from downtown and has a good bike lane leading to it as well. We used this inn as a starting point for concerts at Tanglewood, hikes on the Appalachian trail, bike rides, and shopping. The innkeepers and staff are very friendly and sincere. The only negatives are some wear and tear notable on the exterior, some cramped and worn fixtures in the bathroom, and occasional balky wi-fi connection. Overall a very fine experience which is highly recommended.

Room Tip: A second floor room with exterior stairway is convenient.

Thanks for the descriptive and detailed review, I know it will help our future guests. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us and found us a good midway point for all of your various adventures. You are correct that there is some noticeable wear and tear on some of the exteriors. Being that the Inn was banked owned for over a year and the fact that the youngest of the 3 buildings is from 1889, upkeep is constant and never ending. We are constantly upgrading our buildings structurally and aesthetically, but like all things take a bit of time, but no worries, we'll keep at it.

We hope you come back for another visit down the road!

Cheers,
Nell

The Cornell Inn was the perfect place for our stay in Lenox. The house is lovely and extremely clean, with comfortable rooms and very nice indoors and outdoors common areas. The in-keeper and his staff couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. They all went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay without ever being intrusive. Breakfast was excellent and the location is perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better B&B. Will recommend to our friends and will definitely stay there when we return to the area.

Just ended a first-time stay at the Cornell Inn in Lenox, and it won't be our last. The location is very close to the attractions in Lenox, like Tanglewood, and you can walk to the center of town for the shops and restaurants. The main house of the inn is lovely, and the grounds are simply beautiful-gorgeous flower beds, koi pond, and a waterfall. Eating breakfast outside on the deck is wonderful, and there are chairs on all the porches to use for relaxation and reading a good book or using your computer (free wi-fi). If you are worried about the "closeness" of some b and b's, you will have no problem here. There are 28 rooms in 3 historic buildings, so no one is breathing down your neck. We stayed in the Frances room, which is in the main house, and is the largest room in the inn. Four-poster king size bed, tv, air, fireplace for winter, a chaise lounge and extra chairs and lamps in a sitting area, a small fridge and bar sink, and a small but certainly adequate bathroom. There was even a small private terrace, with 2 chairs and a table. Just lovely. You can check out the pictures on the inn's website. There is even a small pub room, and we returned around 5PM one day to see lots of other guests "indulging" and being very genial. Breakfast is included and is sumptuous-cold items, fresh baked goods, and 6 or 7 hot items, including frittatas, sausages, french toast, and the best berry pancakes. There is coffee and tea available all day, accompanied by freshly baked cookies. We returned from Tanglewood at 11PM one night, and enjoyed the cookies, with fresh ones coming out of the oven even then. One last item: Tim, our host, is the most gracious, welcoming innkeeper I have ever met, and will do anything to help you. The Cornell Inn is a great find, and we cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: The Frances is the way to go if you want extra space and quiet.

I booked the Cornell Inn rather than other B&B I stayed at previously, because it was more reasonably priced. It far surpassed my expectations. Excellent location in central Lenox; lovely large room with comfortable bed and nicely decorated; clean; quiet. Breakfast had many hot and cold options and could be eaten in the main dining room or in a lovely garden out back. The Innkeepers were helpful and friendly but never intrusive. Fun to notice that all the rooms are named after First Ladies. I spent 5 days there and look forward to returning.

Room Tip: Nope. I liked my room so much that I don't want to share which on it was because I don't wa...

Comfortable and clean with friendly, helpful, but not intrusive staff and innkeepers in lovely historic buildings - there are actually 3 and we stayed in the main house - nice because we just had to go downstairs to get breakfast. Breakfasts included hot options and really tasty baked goods. I really liked that coffee, tea and cold water are available all day, and that there are homemade cookies served in the afternoon. Very pleasant backyard garden is wonderful for having breakfast or hanging out any time of day. Innkeepers were flexible and let us check out a little late so we could enjoy a very leisurely late breakfast in the garden. Free wifi.
