I searched among many hotels in the area and chose Garden Gables Inn. As for any special occasion (anniversary) your expectations are high. My husband and I loved the Inn and the charming staff that made our stay so comfortable. Joe and John were very friendly yet also gave us plenty of privacy during our stay. The chocolate chip cookies Joe baked every morning were heavenly and addictive. The fireplace in the common room at night was very enjoyable. We also had a fireplace in our room which we loved. There were many local stores in the area within walking distance. There are many things to do in the surrounding areas that kept us very busy. We will be returning to Garden Gables this summer!
We just returned from a two night stay in this Bed and Breakfast conveniently located near downtown Lenox. We stayed in room #17-cute with a king bed and fireplace and fridge in the room and paid $355.00 a night. The bed was way too soft for us for a comfortable night's rest. The rest of the room was small but adequate. They didn't give us fresh towels in the afternoon after we left the room, although the bed was made. The breakfast was included and was above average, with a nice choice of freshly made eggs, waffles, etc. served to you ,besides the buffet that was out. All in all, a nice place, nothing exceptional at this price.
We have been staying at the Garden Gables Inn for six years. It is a charming inn, located on a beautiful site in Lenox, Massachusetts. We had a scare last year, when we heard that the long-time innkeepers had sold. To our delight, the new owners have made the place even better. John is a warm and charming host. When he is not greeting guests, he and his wife operate the nearby Furnace Brook Winery and Hilltop Orchards. Improvements to the inn itself, and the services provided have made Garden Gables a real treasure. Breakfasts in the lovely dining room or the enclosed porch are wonderful. A new feature this year was a leisurely gourmet dinner in the dining room, which we enjoyed before going off to evening activities in the area. It was a pleasure being able to avoid the crowds at the Lenox restaurants.
The Garden Gables Inn was a wonderful getaway for us. The historic property is located on several acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and even though it is right off the main street in Lenox, it's very quiet and peaceful. We chose one of their smaller rooms overlooking the front gardens. It was clean and cozy and the bed was very comfortable.
The common rooms downstairs were lovely. There are two sitting rooms with comfortable sofas and chairs, lots of books, and soft classical music playing in the background. Guests can enjoy breakfast in the dining room, or on the enclosed porch. Breakfasts were delicious. The buffet included bacon and sausage, fresh fruit, cereals, and breads with jams made at the inn's orchard, as well as made to order eggs, french toast and waffles. Homemade chocolate chip cookies and lemonade were available every afternoon and evening.
The inn also offers spa services and wireless internet service. I had an 80 minute massage with Jess that was just wonderful, followed by a private yoga lesson with Cindy that left me feeling incredibly relaxed. We found all the staff at the inn to be welcoming, gracious and very helpful.
The inn is within walking distance of restaurants and shops, and is just a short drive to Tanglewood and other area attractions.
