“First class place to stay in the Berkshires”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

The overwhelming sentiment of the other reviewers is correct. This is a lovely place to stay in Lenox; ideally suited for seeing most of what the region has to offer. The rooms are nice, beds are comfortable, the house and grounds appealing, and the (very warm) swimming pool an extra touch. Most everyone comments on the personal attention from the owners for good reason. Stan is always available, offers very helpful advice and is anxious to make sure that everyone has what they need for breakfast. It's not cheap but you can be confident about having a good experience.

My husband and I have stayed at a few B&B's and The Hampton Terrace in Lenox is at the top our of the list. It is a beautiful home in a very peaceful setting. The owner's are very personable and attentive to your needs and the grounds are very well kept. It is quite evident that they are very concerned with meeting or even exceeding your expectations. There are many things in the area for entertainment and you can walk into town where there are many excellent restaurants and shops. We will definitely be returning to The Hampton Terrace in the near future. Thank you for a wonderful stay and exceeding our expectations.

Wonderful place to stay. We spent our 12th anniversary. Stan is warm & friendly & has excellent customer service even before you arrive! The inn is very clean & there were nice small touches such as Keraug machines and bottled water. I loved having a ceiling fan in the room! The pool was lovely & a special treat! The location is top notch since you can walk to downtown and to the Shakespeare theater. Loved it!!!

My husband and I with our friends stayed the weekend in the main house and throughly enjoyed our time there. It was very homey and friendly. We especially liked the fireplace in our room. The large living room had a fireplace as well. There was cold water in the guest refrigerator which I really appreciated. Stan was very helpful and made good restaurant recommendations.

My wife and I recently stayed at a Suite Cottage. The bed and room were excellent, we slept fine. The room came with a double Jacuzzi; something you do not find at an inn. The owner Stan asked both mornings what would we like for breakfast. One day it was fresh blueberry pancakes, another day it was fresh scrambled eggs. I particularly enjoyed the fresh raspberries and blackberries along with other assorted fresh cut fruit. Stan recommended two excellent restaurants within walking distance of the inn: one was Alta the other Nudel. At Alta I had shrimp linguine; better than most you will find in the North End of Boston. Stan knows the area well. He recommended a climb up Monument Mountain. It's not a tall mountain, around 1500 feet, but the views of the Berkshires are spectacular. We were there in the off-season so Tanglewood was not in session; but, if you listen to Stan's advice, you'll find plenty to do in and around Lennox in the off season.

Room Tip: Suites come with double Jacuzzi's.

Gorgeous main building with lovely amenities. We stayed in a king suite on the back of the property, and because it was off season, Stan was gracious enough to let us stay just one night. I wish we could have stayed longer. The room itself was great- jacuzzi tub was clean, room was attractive and comfortable. Breakfast was berry pancakes, pastry, hardboiled eggs, and (maybe) sausage? Coffee was available 24 hours a day. Stan was totally helpful and friendly and had soy milk for my coffee.

My only complaint is that Lenox itself is not populated with vegetarian friendly restaurants! It was sort of impossible to eat at any of the better restaurants and not be relegated to a cheese plate or french fries. But nothing to do with the Hampton Terrace!

We spent Easter weekend at Hampton Terrace and really enjoyed our stay. Stan was very helpful in providing us with restaurant and hiking recommendations. He was always available and willing to chat, but it never felt intrusive. We stayed in the ground floor of the carriage and found the accommodations very comfortable. We thought the breakfasts were delicious. We hope to visit again soon!
