We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and meeting Stan. His restaurant recommendations were excellent. Had very good, reasonably priced meals. Our room was clean, quiet (day and night) and spacious - we slept well. You can't beat the location - you can walk anywhere in town and other interesting Berkshire attractions are within an hour or so drive. Being able to swim in a heated pool in early June was a real treat. Breakfast buffet was well-stocked and we northerners enjoyed the southern grits more than we expected! Stan was very good at picking out the freshest fruit - so good!

Room Tip: If you're considering the Carriage House, Room 1 seemed the most spacious.

I am going to sound like a broken record of others' reviews...but...here goes anyway. Starting with Stan-- what a kind gentleman. We were away for one night from our kids and Stan was so accommodating of us! Our room was really clean and had all we needed including a very nice jacuzzi tub. We were so close to town and walked everywhere. Stan also gave us really helpful info on places in town and a top for getting into one of the busier restaurants in town. We had never been to the berkshires but will definitely be back now. Thank you Stan-- your inn is amazing.

I am usually wary of B&B's. They can vary in so many ways I usually find it easier to stay at a hotel where I know the kind of rooms and service I will receive. We decided to try this and we were so happy we did. If all B&B's were like this I would use them all the time.
The house is lovely and within easy walking distance to downtown. The house is large and spacious and decorated for comfort and class. Each room has the original moldings and is a fine example of New England architecture . But what made it special was the gas fireplaces burning, candles on the breakfast table, and soft music playing in the background. It has a BYOB bar that is charming. We took our drinks outside on one of the many porches.
All if this is because of the personable couple Stan and Susan who run the Inn. They are attentive without being intrusive. They were delightful. The breakfasts were served on beautiful china, and the food was terrific.
We did not get to use the heated pool, but we loved sitting by it and enjoying the waterfall.
I would highly recommend this delightful Inn. I will most definitely return.

The overwhelming sentiment of the other reviewers is correct. This is a lovely place to stay in Lenox; ideally suited for seeing most of what the region has to offer. The rooms are nice, beds are comfortable, the house and grounds appealing, and the (very warm) swimming pool an extra touch. Most everyone comments on the personal attention from the owners for good reason. Stan is always available, offers very helpful advice and is anxious to make sure that everyone has what they need for breakfast. It's not cheap but you can be confident about having a good experience.

My husband and I have stayed at a few B&B's and The Hampton Terrace in Lenox is at the top our of the list. It is a beautiful home in a very peaceful setting. The owner's are very personable and attentive to your needs and the grounds are very well kept. It is quite evident that they are very concerned with meeting or even exceeding your expectations. There are many things in the area for entertainment and you can walk into town where there are many excellent restaurants and shops. We will definitely be returning to The Hampton Terrace in the near future. Thank you for a wonderful stay and exceeding our expectations.

Wonderful place to stay. We spent our 12th anniversary. Stan is warm & friendly & has excellent customer service even before you arrive! The inn is very clean & there were nice small touches such as Keraug machines and bottled water. I loved having a ceiling fan in the room! The pool was lovely & a special treat! The location is top notch since you can walk to downtown and to the Shakespeare theater. Loved it!!!

My husband and I with our friends stayed the weekend in the main house and throughly enjoyed our time there. It was very homey and friendly. We especially liked the fireplace in our room. The large living room had a fireplace as well. There was cold water in the guest refrigerator which I really appreciated. Stan was very helpful and made good restaurant recommendations.
