We stayed two nights at this lovely historic Inn. The feel and furnishings were a step back in time upgraded with modern conveniences. The location is excellent with easy access to Tanglewood (about a 1 mile walk) and central to the surrounding towns and venues. The breakfast both days were delicious and plentiful. We were warmly treated from booking to check out and plan to stay here again when we return to the Berkshires.

My wife and I had a long weekend and decided to spend it at the Village Inn. It was a wonderful experience. The room was comfortable and the restaurant's food and service was excellent. It was a quiet time of the year and we had a relaxing weekend. Just what we needed. Our plan is to visit again this fall.

even though our room was small, it was nicely furnished and clean. the bathroom was renovated and had all the amenities. the staff was very attentive especially Mary Ellen who went out of her way to accommodate us. the inn has a history going back 200 years, but has everything one needs in the 21st century.

Room Tip: calling to make reservations on the phone is better than booking online. the person taking the reser...

This weekend we were attending a concert at Tanglewood and stayed at the Village Inn. Built before the revolutionary war (1771 or so), the structure is pretty much identical to its' original design, facing perpendicular to Church Street because that main street wasn't even there in 1770. You don't go to this inn looking for super modern conveniences (though wifi is free and air conditioning is in every room), but its' location to good restaurants and ice cream is singularly spot on. We stayed in a small room at the top of the stairs, overlooking the street, that was cute and cozy, especially the bathroom. While the staff isn't large and ever present, you can hang out in the lobby and enjoy K cup coffee that tastes great. The four poster bed and its pillows were surprisingly comfortable. Outside, tables and chairs are casually arranged amidst a lovely, eclectic mix of plants and flowers. Breakfast on both days was delicious with fruit, bagels, oatmeal, eggs and great coffee to be enjoyed with sparkling white linen table cloths and napkins. Village Inn is a truly authentic and enriching New England inn experience.

Not certain that I stayed at the same place as other reviewers. Wanted to be in-town this time so chose the Village Inn. Place is very dated and needs a significant renovation.Dinner was just ok; breakfast was a farce compared to other Inns and we journeyed out to a local restaurant instead. Room was falling apart ( the bathroom was something out of the 1920's) and after significant rain we could hear a constant drip all night. Service people tried hard and that was the only plus. I'd skip this place if I was you....

My girlfriend and I recently went to the Melissa Etheridge concert at Tanglewood and needed a reasonable place to stay. We found the Village Inn for a wonderful price. Although the room was alittle small, it had it's own bathroom, the bed was comfy, and the rate included breakfast. We went to Rumpy's Tavern which is in the basement of the Village Inn after the concert - what a scream. This place is very unique!!! We had late night cocktails and breakfast outside becasue the grounds are so beautifully landscaped. Also, the common spaces in the Inn are very nice, comfortable and inviting. The breakfast was very good - eggs, ham, sausage, pancakes, danishes, muffins, fruit salad, juices, etc. I would highly recommend staying here.

The only bad thing was that since we got the cheapest type of room, there was no air conditioner. If it was hotter that night, it would have been a tough sleeping night :)

Room Tip: if air conditioning is important, make sure to ask for a room with it.

This was our second stay at the inn and we were not disappointed. The ever present history of the inn was wonderful but it was the staff that made our stay a great one. The staff was most accommodating and attentive throughout our stay and I really feel that was a very large and special part of our experience. The High Tea and American coffee served in the Lobby each and every afternoon was special and yes, the warm sugar cookies made by Louis topped off the afternoon. The rooms are clean, cared for and that special aura of history was ever present throughout the inn. We will return.

Room Tip: Our room faced Church Street. It was a lovely location and being in the heart of Lenox is also a won...
