“Old world elegance...”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Housed in a "cottage", ( 30 plus rooms on over 20 beautiful acres, Cranwell sits majestically over looking the golf course and lushly landscaped grounds. Step back in time to grand living, large staircases, impressive fireplaces and opulent rooms. Old world charm and elegance. We had just recently moved to the Berkshires and had passed Cranwell numerous times, always making fun and talking in a sophisticated upper crust accent as we would say, "my darling one day we will have to dine at Cranwell." Well that day arrived for Sunday brunch. Ah, the choices and presentation, you felt like a millionaire having lunch after a rousing polo match. The food was amazing from fresh berries and fruit, to glorious meat! Sausages and bacon and hand carved juicy sirloin. Cereals, yogurt and salads abound, along with a made to order omelet station. Oh you would like the best cheese blintzes in the world, they have those, you would like chocolate chip french toast so yummy that it does require maple syrup, they have that too. Very attentive and friendly staff make the dining experience most pleasurable. I would highly recommend this brunch over all others in the land. A great place for romance or trying to get in good with the rich in-laws. A country club experience without the initiation dues and high monthly fees. A must visit, you will be delighted that you did....

“A bite here a paragraph there,”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

BREAKFAST, where to go?
We had frequently gone to a staple of the East Coast but we decided we wanted something a bit more unique and local.
We had heard that the Cranwell Resort was open to the public and so we decided to give it a go.
We were welcomed by the hostess and taken to the main dining area, the Music Room.
This was a Wednesday, middle of the week and the place was half filled, and to our surprise, a well stocked breakfast buffet was available.
Those of you who have read my other reviews may have noticed, I am a sucker for “all you can eat” and although I try to stay away from such venues, they have my name written all over 'em.
And so me-lady ordered a custom omelet made table side, I chose to sample the foods calling my name.
The selection was full of options, from eggs, to bacon/ sausage, home fried potatoes, to . . . to . . . to cereal, yogurt, toast, jellies/jams and biscuits and and and . . .
When we walked in we were provided a selection of newspapers to choose from and as we eat our breakfast, we reviewed the news in leisure.
A bite here, a paragraph there, open to the public and at a very sensible price.
Sorry (unnamed) restaurant, we will not be stopping in any longer, the Cranwell has quickly become our restaurant of choice when we are in the Berkshire of Mass.

“Friendly service and good food”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We dined in the Music Room during a recent stay at the Cranwell. The food was well prepared and of good quality. The Caesar Salad was very good, as was the roast chicken. Nothing too fancy, but good. The menu was somewhat limited and the server, though very friendly and accommodating, was unfamiliar with the menu items.

Beautiful setting. Waitress Claudine was excellent. One of our favorite wines was on the list. Our meals were tasty and pleasing. Excellent night out.
