The site of my suprise 35th bday. private dinner - as in a dinner in our own room within the restuarant area, where we had a fireplace and no view of other people. subject to availability... nice room with hot tub and fireplace. deck with view of open area. neighborhors nextdoor that were conveniently not there that night. awesome breakfast, then nice massage, heated pool, all around joy. Very peaceful, old-money bershikeres place. Awesome for the feel of the area.

This was out third trip to Blantyre . We have Gone 3 different seasons. Fall, Summer and my favorite Christmas time. Step back in time to another era. We are planning to go back again this winter. We love the staff, the food, the ambience. A perfect vacation.

Room Tip: I haven't had a bad room yet!

It has been too long since our last visit, but no worries-it only seems to get better. The menu is wonderful, and the grounds looked amazing this trip. There is no finer place to stay if you are off to Tanglewood, or many of the other fabulous things to do in the Berkshires. (There is no shortage of arts and entertainment temptation). It is truly one of the best food and wine experiences in the USA, and perhaps the world. Don't be intimidated by the phone book sized wine list-allow Luc or Christelle to pick one (or pairings) for you. PS:The breakfast will be a great way to start your day after some of the best sleep that you will ever have.Kudos!

Room Tip: If you get one of rooms in close to the spa, you can work out/ read the paper in the warm confines o...

We plan each summer for a long weekend at Tanglewood where the cool weather, mountain scenery and fantastic classical music join together for a great experience. The Blantyre is the only place to stay in Lenox and offers first class dining, with a famous wine list, great accommodations and first class service. Blantyre will transport you to Tanglewood and offers the best seat locations for the concerts. With massive acres, tennis courts, beautiful grounds, and a 75-foot long outdoor heated pool, Blantyre provides a great setting. Every one on the staff is professional and courteous, the rooms are beautifully decorated, and the spa is first rate as well. We look forward to next summer's visit.

Blantyre's attention to detail shines through its impeccable service. The room was sumptuous with everything we needed and the pool and spa was private and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and the menu interesting. We had dinner one night at the hotel and it was outstanding. We chose the chefs menu and each course was so tasty from the melon soup to the house smoked peppered swordfish to the veal and cheese course. We matched with wines selected by Cristal, the French sommelier. Her choices were perfect and her manner enjoyable. The location is great near to Lenox and Tanglewood. It is expensive but if you feel like a treat, Blantyre does deliver.

We didn't stay here, only ate dinner, but it was absolutely first rate, excellent food (canapes on the terrace, then the five course tasting which was excellent, well thought out and perfectly executed), and wine pairings selected by the sommelier (Christelle?) which were off the charts, among the best we've had anywhere in the world, and beautifully presented and commented upon. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Not inexpensive but worth the splurge. Hint: we were seated in a small separate room away from the main dining room (a ladies drawing room in the house's original life?) which we loved: the main dining room is beautiful but a bit over the top and for an intimate dinner a deux we much preferred where we were.

The staff at Blantyre is second to none. I have to call out Christina at reception, Simon in the dining room, and the entire spa staff especially Linda who is a reflexology genius. From the first moment I arrived the staff was just lovely. They were not overbearing but they wear there at every turn to help. No detail was too small. No ask was too big. Everything seemed like a pleasure. I was traveling with my 6 year old daughter and didn't realize kids under 12 were not allowed in the dining room. Simon offered us the chefs table in the kitchen which was so charming. My 6 year old loved it, was completely fascinated with the kitchen, and asked me if "we were in an episode of downton Abby".

Prepare to come here with formal dress. I was ill prepared but still had a lovely experience.
