There is nothing specifically wrong with the Wheatleigh - BUT - it is massively overpriced. The public rooms are unwelcoming and the bedroom (called a suite, but nothing could be further from the truth) - unmemorable - the bathroom could just about justify a two star rating - very clean, but poorly equipped.
The staff are extremely helpful, very polite and nothing is too much trouble. But the place is totally devoid of atmosphere.
The food especially dinner was very good, but again overpriced.
Would I stay there again ? Absolutely not.
