“A Nice Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2008

We chose this hotel for an overnight stay while visiting the mountain coaster at Jiminy Peak (which is 16 miles away). I had read some of the reviews and was a little concerned as to what it would be like. I have to say we were pleased with what we found.

The front desk staff were friendly and check in was quick. They even let us check in a half hour before check in time which was a nice surprise. Our room (2nd floor of the main building) was certainly of a nice Motel 6/Redroof style, so if you're expecting the Ritz you will be sadly disappointed. The room was clean, well prepared, and had a modern AC unit. The room also came with a microwave and small fridge. The furniture, albeit a little dated, was in good condition (see exception below).

There were two pools, one indoor and one outdoor. We didn't get a chance to use them, but they appeared nice.

Now for a few minor things: My son's bed squeeked everytime he moved, the tub faucet had a slow drip, and the sink faucet's cold water control worked to the reverse of a typical faucet. While I was able to pick up a wireless signal in our room, I think it was only because we were so close to the main lobby (the hotel's handbook states wireless available only in the lobby). There is only a dialup dataport in the room (people still use dialup?). Also, the hotel's lounge is only open on Friday and Saturday nights (perhaps summer hours?). Since it was Wednesday we were out of luck. All of that being said, none of these things negatively impacted our stay and we would gladly return.

The hotel is right off the main road so there are plenty of chain restaurants (Friendlys, Bennigans, etc) close by as well as a Price Chopper supermarket if you needed. Be careful when coming back at night though. There aren't any lights on the main sign so we almost drove right past the enterance.

My husband and I and our 2 boys stayed here to enjoy a skiing weekend at Jiminy Peak. The Yankee Inn was a good value. We stayed in a 2 Queen room in the main Inn- it had been recently renovated so it was clean, and had no weird smells. The pool areas was ok- looks better on-line, in photos. The staff was friendly, and the location was convienent. There are restaurants nearby, in particular, the one assocated with the
hotel, Asters, was wonderful. We had never been to the Berkshires, so I must say we were pleasantly surprised when we pulled into the Yankee Inn after passing many "shady" motels on the way. While nothing to get excited over, we felt the Yankee Inn was safe, clean and comfortable. For the price, ($129/nt)-it would be hard to beat!

  • Liked — The price and cleanliness.
  • Disliked — No DVD player in the room, and they charge you $10 a night to rent one-pretty lame.

The Yankee Inn provided a clean, centrally-located, and friendly place to stay. We had never been to the Berkshires before, and decided on the Yankee Inn based on a number of comments from this site. We're happy we did.

We stayed in a gas-fireplace room in the main building. The room did not seem any bigger than your standard hotel room, however the gas fireplace was great on a cold night. It also had a balcony that looked over the back of the lot (which was nice because the other side looks onto Route 7). We enjoyed the hot tub and pool both nights. They even provide a continental breakfast in the morning! It was also very close to the Audobohn society and Bourqe ski resort.

The Yankee Inn is not plush, but it's a great place to stay in a sea of over-priced or seedy hotel options. We'll definitely be back.

I stayed at the Yankee Inn in late December of 2007. My wife and I were skiing at Jiminy Peak for our anniversary and we booked a room at the hotel mainly because of it's location and hot tub. I did contact the hotel just to make sure everything went well since it was an important weekend and hoped for the best.

When we got there I was surprised to find a bottle of wine and chocolates in the room, the proprietors also left a very nice note and the service couldn't be any better.

The room was fantastic, very romantic. There was king bed that was unbelievable with a wonderful canopy overhead and incredibly plush bedding. The fireplace was great, tv worked, large sitting area with two recliners and a patio for $139 w/breakfast. Also, a pool and hot tub. I honestly don't know what others were complaining about. More than likely they were uncooperative from the beginning with the staff.

It really was a great weekend, good skiing too. Good bargain

We just stayed at the Yankee Inn and found it to be clean, comfortable and the staff very accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and offered quite a variety. It is centrally located---close to the Norman Rockwell Museum, Berkshire Botanical Gardens, Jiminy Peak and the Red Lion Inn. There are restaurants within walking distance. I would recommend Dakota Steak. Don't be scared about the bad reviews--book it!!!

Two senior women, we stayed here in early August for tourist activities. We were in main buildings which apparently makes a difference. Fine continental breakfast which includes waffles, cereals and many pastries, coffee and juice. Clean room with good cleaning service. The hall rug looked bad , we heard others comment on it. Clean and pleasant pools and hot tub. Expensive as are all motels or inns during the summer. in the Berkshires. Help were almost all young Russians. Several twere helpful if first reply is indifferent or rude, just wait and try another one. One good feature, they have excellent written directions to all local features,Tangelwood, Jacob's Pillow etc. Also will print out good directions to airports. Right on Hiway 7 but is not noisy in rooms even on front side. A good experience.

We were not at all satisfied with our stay. The room was not vacuumed. We never got the right towels without calling. The air conditioner was falling apart, literally. The blanket looked dirty. There was only one light by the bed. The room smelled damp and musky. One of our friends staying there also had cobwebs all over the room. And it was not inexpensive!
