This is an amazing home, we felt lucky to take a look inside, let alone stay there. Alix and her family were easy going, were there if you needed help or advice but otherwise left you to it, a perfect combination. The home is traditionally decorated but has all the facilities you need including a shared fridge, an extra coffee machine and a microwave although not a kitchen area per se. Although these were added bonuses, this is a B&B after all! Also have books and DVDs you can borrow and lots of tourist literature if you want it including a map to the train station, the local T red line stop (Alewife). This goes straight into Harvard Square, it's only 4 stops. I would advise having a car though as this B&B is in Lexington, a quieter residential area where people actually live. A great place for a quiet relaxing stay, a retreat after a fast-paced day in Boston!

We stayed in the small but perfectly formed Sunset Room. It had everything we needed, hot shower with toiletries and fluffy towels, cable TV, separate WC and a closet. The antique furniture was beautiful, felt like we were staying in a friends home. Unfortunately we were never in the room to catch the sunset but sure it's worthy of the name!

Breakfast was different both mornings. You can have generic cereal, toast and fruit but I think Alix makes something extra most mornings. I requested scrambled eggs and Alix made me eggs and bacon to order (yummy), and the next morning there were home made fruit crepes and muffins for us (also yummy!). She accommodated our late arrival on the first night easily, kindly reassured us that it didn't matter when we arrived, just to arrive safely. Great for singles and couples of all ages (you have your own key so can come and go as you please) who prefer something a little different to your average hotel, in a quiet area. We're pleased we got to see a little more than just Boston this time around. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Sunset Room has lots of character and storage. Very quiet at all times of day. Last room, so no one goes passed your door, ever.

This was an excellent alternative for us to staying in Boston. We were able to get to Boston in 20 minutes for a college weekend. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were very nicely decorated. Friendly service. A very enjoyable weekend!

My wife and I recently had a relaxing weekend getaway at Morgan's Rest Bed & Breakfast. We had a very comfortable room topped off with a delicious breakfast each morning. Alex , our host, was very gracious and outgoing to insure that everything was just right. If you are planning on staying in the Lexington/Concord area this Bed and Breakfast is well suited to accomodate your overnight needs. Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: All 3 rooms are very nicely decorated and have different themes.

We took another trip up to the Boston area, and stayed at Morgan's Rest for a second time; still happy with the accommodations, the house is situated on a hill above the town of Lexington, Mass. What a gorgeous spot and lovely room. The innkeeper was extremely helpful in guiding us to spots where we could see beautiful foliage, and, as we expected, provided us with all the comforts we could ask for, including her terrific breakfasts! Thanks to Alix and family for a great stay.

This place is not very convenient to the sights. Its in a residential neighborhood not too easy to find and a 5 minute drive into the town. We arrived early and thought we were in the wrong place because the husband who answered the door didn't seem to be expecting us. When we asked for directions into town he was fuzzy about it.

The accommodations were OK. The pool room is cavernous with a nice bathroom but the linens and blanket were thin and looked like they were old. The sheets and pillowcases were fresh but the actual pillows smelled old and musty and really need to be thrown away. The TV was old and small.

The breakfast was good, eggs, bacon and fresh bread, but we felt like we were not very welcome relatives staying in their house while they got ready for work. Basically, it seems like the B&B was a bit of a nuisance to them and certainly not their major focus.

We would not stay there again.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that your recent stay did not meet expectations and certainly take your comments very seriously as we continually strive to improve. We have addressed all of your comments and made several upgrades since your stay, including new large flat screen televisions in each room for relaxing with cable TV or complimentary movies.
Your kind words regarding our homecooked breakfasts are much appreciated! Since we are 1.5 miles from downtown Lexington, it is likely that a vehicle is needed for most restaurants, although it is a quick 4- 5 minute ride. I am very happy to provide maps and directions, along with local advice regarding the Lexington-Concord area and Boston. My husband and I try to be very welcoming to all of our guests, and hope that you husband will reconsider us on your next trip East.
