“Inn near the sea”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

It was great to be at the Marblehead Inn for 5 nights last Summer. The guests are wonderful, well traveled, and of a very agreeable conversation. The staff was also very amiable. We were travelling with 2 children and it was great to be at a 10 minutes walk from the sea. There is a family beach, with low tides, and a play ground for the kids. The snack bar also offer great food. We will go back to Marblehead Inn.

My husband and I were only able to spend one night in Marblehead/Salem, but we greatly enjoyed our time in this charming area in such a lovely B & B. Definitely consider spending your weekend here, it felt like home and was absolutely darling.

My husband and I traveled to the East coast for the first time in September/October 2013 and our first stop was at the Marblehead Inn. We were greeted by Karlene and John, who, upon hearing it was our anniversary treated us to champagne and chocolates (they told us that if we had informed them sooner, we would have had flowers too!) What a great start. The accommodations were clean and extremely comfortable. The woodwork at the Marblehead Inn is stunning. Breakfast was a nice assortment of fresh fruit, and local fresh bakery breads. Juice, coffee, teas, yogurt and other items were also available. The entire staff including Karlene, John, Patricia and Joodi were great at suggesting sites to see and restaurants to try. We had an especially enjoyable conversation with Joodi on our last night!

I couldn't be happier with my choice of B & B. The staff was as nice as could be, and the rooms were maintained to a tee. Beautiful house, and location as well.

Not enough good things to say about the place.

Our group of 4 couples thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marblehead Inn! The help were
all over-the-top friendly and helpful, rooms were somewhat small but well appointed, and the
Continental breakfast setup was as advertised. I would like to have been a little closer to the
charming town with its great views and fantastic seafood, but this was reflected in the price.
I would return!

Room Tip: Check out the rooms first...they vary in size.

Thank you for your wonderful review, Linda, and for taking the time to let us know that you enjoyed your stay at the inn. I'm sorry being a mile from old town was a bit further than you liked. Hopefully, being only a 10 minute walk to the beach and 2 miles from Salem made up for that. We hope to see you and Jim again very soon.

We celebrated our first anniversary trip this year by going traveling around Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We chose to stay 4 nights at Marblehead Inn based on the fantastic reviews found here on tripadvisor, and it did not disappoint! They even went out of their way to give us flowers and wine for our anniversary!! Joodi welcomed us our first night like we were old friends, and was so helpful and kind the entire stay! Patricia was so sweet and gave us great hints for traveling in Boston. And Karlene and John were there every day to make sure we had everything we needed for the day, and welcomed us back 'home' every night. We stayed in Room #4 which had a huge king size bed and was clean, comfortable and beautiful. Breakfast had a ton of delicious options and they are willing to specialize the menu for your according to likes/dislikes/allergies. I was sorry to leave Marblehead Inn and would definitely stay there again! I wish I could take it with me on every trip!

Room Tip: Room #4 is on the first floor. It has a king sized bed and big, clean, private bathroom. It was next...

On my return to New England decades after growing up there, I could not have been more pleased with my experience at the Marblehead Inn. It was like stepping back in time to the simple elegance of the early twentieth century. Patricia welcomed my husband and me with a friendly smile and that familiar New England charm. After a brief tour of our suite, she left us to enjoy our own private parlor with a beautiful old fireplace and hearth, French doors leading to a cozy patio, an adjacent bedroom with an old fashioned four poster bed and very convenient ensuite bath. The Innkeepers, Karlene and John greeted their guests each morning with a more than adequate continental breakfast. Coffee and Tea was available throughout the day, when my husband and I decided to remain at the Inn and sit on our patio enjoying the ocean breeze from a few blocks away. I cannot say enough about this beautiful old structure whose main entrance makes you feel like Royalty, whose walls feature original paintings of the North Shore by local artists, whose hosts offer the ultimate in hospitality and made this former New Englander feel right at home.
