We ate outside which was very pleasant. Novel cocktail served in a jam jar. Y husband had sashimi tuna to start which was good. He then had salmon. He enjoyed the accompaniments bug the salmon was over cooked. I had scallops with wild mushroom risotto. By other restaurants standards in New England, the scallops were just slightly overcooked but I enjoyed the meal and the staff were very attentive and pleasant.

We found the food, drinks & prices were great. Cannot fault anything about this place as we returned sevaral times. $5 pizza betwween 5-7pm? Really good pizza too. Would advise to go after the pizza deal though as it can get noisy around then.

We eat at Jack-Tar's restaurant often when we are in Marblehead.

We have lived in the town for a very long time. Jack Tar's have been a very good tucked away pub for a number if years now.

It's good... Try the veggie/goat cheese pizza, to die for!

Good drinks, a noisy but intimate atmosphere.

Try it, you'll love it

Stopped for drinks after dinner. Nice patio! Bartender, Steven, was very friendly. Did not eat here...just drinks but atmosphere was comfortable. $35 for 4 drinks a bit steep but it is New England!

Visited this restaurant based on other trip advisor reviews and was disappointed. Back home, when we see "tavern" we think pub food, deep fried, etc. but the only thing on the menu like that was a hamburger. It was a small menu, but the prices were good. I ended up getting an appetizer that was on special, my husband got a burger, and 1 or 2 beers and it was $27. The place was packed though so people do like it, just not what we expected. Wait staff was very friendly.
