Stayed at Pheasant Hill for our recent trip to Salem. Nancy and Bill were wonderful hosts and provided us plenty of information on what to do, where to go and how to get there! We stayed in the Tree Top Suite and it was wonderful. Highly recommended, no complaints :)

Pheasant Hill is a large beautiful stylish property situated at the end of a very quiet street. The Innkeepers Nancy and Bill have been doing B&B for nearly 20 years and have maintained their fun approach coupled with a high quality of accommodation and breakfasts.
We were greeted very warmly and given lots of information about what we could do in the area an they have lots of reading material on local sights. The room turned out to be a suite, very roomy and very comfortable, a great home from home. For the wildlife buffs, the area is teeming with squirrels and bats, great to see them. Enjoy your stay as much as we did

A charming old house and a lovely host made for a great stay. We are a group of three, who had the treetops room, which was plenty of space for us. The bathroom was great and had everything we needed plus a night light, which was a great help to us. The shower pressure was the best we have had in 6 months of travel.
Breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety (for American standards) on offer - porridge, boiled egg, fresh fruit, cereal and bagels with a variety of spreads.
Nancy was very helpful in recommending places to eat and what to see in the area.

From making the reservations to our very early morning breakfast before we left - everything was great. A very quiet neighborhood, easy location to find, friendly and knowledgeable owners, beautiful house, comfortable rooms, wonderful breakfast....I can keep going about our great experience at the Pheasant Hill Inn.
Do yourself a favor and stop looking around - just book it.

Upon traveling to Marblehead for our new grand daughter's first birthday, we decided to make it a mini-getaway and stay at the Pheasant Hill Inn. Some of the other bed and breakfasts we checked on TripAdvisor were already booked, but we were very lucky in the end to have booked this one. We were greeted by Nancy, intelligent, warm and friendly and shown around the Inn. It is a lovely property, and as stated in other reviews, being near the end of a dead-end street, it's quiet, but still near downtown Marblehead and the beach.
Incorporated in 1649, Marblehead is an historic and attractive New England town featuring more than 300 buildings constructed before the American Revolution. The Inn has been lovingly updated and you can clearly see the care taken to keep much of it looking as originally built.
We met Bill the first morning as we sat down to a lovely bowl of fruit.. Breakfast also included buns, croissants, bagels, oatmeal, (my personal favorite!) juices and hot steaming coffee .
In conversations with Bill, we found he was familiar with an area of NY where my husband and I were raised. It was fun talking about the different places we all remembered and what was still there after all these years, and what was not. Bill and Nancy were both great hosts and it was obvious their main concern was our comfort and satisfaction.
My husband and I opted for the room called The Bird's Nest, which has it's own entrance. It is up a flight or two of stairs, so I don't think it would suit everyone, but we loved it. It was a good sized suite, entering though a living room area, and included a roomy bedroom and good sized bath. Decorated with antiques, it is clean, cozy and warm. It also had a fridge, which came in handy for left-overs from dinner out one night, and keeping our white wine cold.
Don't bother looking for other bed and breakfasts, this should suit your needs and your pocketbook. There's not much better out there than the Pheasant Hill Inn.

Room Tip: The Bird's Nest is quiet and set apart from the rest of the Inn.
