New Garden is a small family-run Chinese restaurant right on a main street in Needham, close to the city center. There is a small bar, and tables are close together, so it is a bit noisy. The food is plentiful, hot, and well-prepared. The egg rolls, spare ribs, and pork pot stickers are very good. There are some interesting and non-traditional foods, such as the pepper spiced squid, in a brown bean sauce with julienned red peppers and a few of those little wicked brown Chinese peppers; it was quite good. Our family likes it because the traditional Cantonese foods are unchanged for 50 years, and Uncle Freddie, in particular, likes Chinese food the way it is "supposed to be". Very busy certain nights: reservations suggested.
