“beautiful property”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

My daughter and I spent two lovely nights at the Blackinton Manor. As others have mentioned, the home itself is absolutely beautiful. High ceilings, great art, and large windows which showcase the property. Although it is close to the road you feel very secluded. The room was immaculate and quiet, the bed was very comfortable, as was the day bed in the adjoining room. Breakfast was great. I'm not sure what another reviewer is talking about there not being hot breakfasts. We had eggs one morning, french toast the next. There is a formal air here, but I quite like it. The owners are not in your face, but always there if you need help or advice. We went to check out Mass MoCA and to visit friends in Williamstown. North Adams is definitely a depressed city--quite bleak in many places. That said, this B&B is located right near Williamstown, and as mentioned, once you are on the property you feel like you are someplace else entirely. Tranquil and beautiful. Don't hesitate to stay here is you need great lodging in the area.

So glad that we stayed here....the mansion is amazing and the history behind it is cool. We stayed in the English suite and loved it! The bathroom has been updated.

The breakfasts are amazing and delicious. The hostess left us cookies each night.

There is a pool but we didn't have time to use it.

Hope to come back one day.

We just came back from a three day stay at the Manor. We usually stayed at the Orchard but decided to try something different this time, and we instantly fell in love with the charm of the place. The hosts have taken such great care to preserve and maintain this mansion and the rooms have been kept immaculately clean. If you like a quiet stay and enjoy greenery right outside your doorstep and bedroom window, you will enjoy this place. Breakfasts were delicious and it's so different from dining in a hotel restaurant -really peaceful, quiet and refreshing. Our daughter left something in her room and they called us immediately and offered to send it to us in the mail. This is the reason why there are bed and breakfast places, and Laura and Paul definitely made it special.

We enjoyed hosting your family while you attended the Williams College graduation for your daughter and are most appreciative that you enjoyed your stay. If your travels bring you back to New England, particularly during the Fall Foliage Season we discussed, we'd welcome having you as our guests once again!

As part of a special anniversary vacation, my wife and I were fortunate to stay at the elegant Blackinton Manor B & B in North Adams, MA. This early 19th-century federal mansion, with its soaring ceilings, grand staircase, and stately vertical windows, is a treat to experience. Our solicitous hosts have added 21st century comforts while honoring this historic residence.
Our room, the English Suite, was delightfully spacious, with a large main room, a pretty sitting room, and a lovely bathroom replete with red marble tile. To ensure guests' comfort, both an air conditioner and an electric wood stove were provided. Every evening, guests could pour themselves a glass of sherry or brandy. In the spacious dining room, the breakfasts were delicious. One morning it was perfectly cooked scrambled eggs made to order with cheese or other ingredients. The next morning, yummy blueberry pancakes with sausages appeared. Plenty of hot coffee or tea, and a selection of juices and breakfast breads, were offered daily. We plan to return to this B & B, perhaps next summer, so that we can enjoy the swimming pool!

Room Tip: Each room has a distinct personality. The B & B's website is very helpful with information...

Just returned from our three night stay in the Carriage Room at the Blackington Manor. Laura and Paul are excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome and provided excellent ideas for local restaurants and activities. Our breakfasts were delicious, especially the blueberry pancakes! Our room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Room Tip: The Carriage Room is a good choice if you want a room with a private entrance.

This inn was first rate and friendly, with a warm welcome in the country kitchen/entrance. Food was wonderful, especially the home baked cookies and elegant breakfasts. I enjoyed viewing the art and antiques.

Room Tip: We stayed in the carriage room, which had a piano and porch entrance.

We stayed here for one night on our way home from Toronto to Boston and were really glad we booked this for the last night of our trip. It's a lovely inn that's exceptionally decorated and exactly what you would imagine for an 1830s-era inn. We stayed in the very comfortable and clean English Suite. The evening glasses of brandy and wine were a really nice touch. The french toast for breakfast was quite good. The innkeepers were very friendly and helpful and obviously very proud of their fine property. They have a book of local restaurant menus that we found helpful (we ate at Espana which was very good and very close to the inn). We would highly recommend this B&B and hope to stay there again.

Room Tip: The English Suite was quite luxurious
