Did not stay in the Residence, but Full marks for welcome and service at the golf club. 5 of us booked, but on arrival, rain prevented us ( fair weather golfers!) from playing. Instead, Soullilac Country Club provided an enjoyable breakfast, no booking charges for cancelled golf. We were so impressed, we rearranged our plans and returned a few days later, for a wonderful round of golf, in great weather! Not long, but tight course, well presented. Very friendly staff.

Three generation of our family stayed in a lodge in the Vallee hamlet this year. It is expensive but the views from this hamlet ( and not many others) is superb. The wonderful meals we all had on the balcony overlooking the green un inhabited valley made our holiday .
The lodges are spacious, the course looked in great order, the restaurant was very pleasant and the pool sparkled at us each morning.
You are surrounded by lovely empty countryside and Souillac is ten minutes away and all down hill! It's a very pleasant little town. There are lots of excursions available within twenty miles or so. If you play golf ,this is a wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: Chalets in La Vallee are best by far.

We have just finished a week in this resort and had not stayed before. We chose it mainly on the back of the positive trip advisor reviews and were delighted with the resort. The house was the best accommodation we have had in any holiday, the size and layout perfect for our family of five. It was a peaceful situation in the forest and even though we didn't play golf the pools, table tennis and tennis were heavily used. The service at the restaurant could be a little laid back but it didn't really matter as our kids were happy with the activities round the service area. Our house was perfectly located right at the pool and I would recommend this to other visitors if available.

Room Tip: Houses close by the pool for families are an added bonus

We have been holidaying here for more than 10 years and the kids all still ask to come back. They are 21/18/13 and 11 now, so we all play golf and tennis together. The accommodation is spacious and high quality and the whole complex is well maintained whilst retaining a country charm. This year the golf course was in great form with green fairways and well maintained greens. It's a short tight course with enough challenge for any golfer but a buggy is really recommended in hot weather as it's a hilly course. The only downside is the clubhouse restaurant which varies from year to year in its quality and value. This year was good for lunch but not good for supper. Activities in the area abound . Kayaking, biking, horse riding, gardens, caves, boat rides, pretty towns and good dining particularly at the Chateau de la Treyne. A really great family holiday.

We go here every year and we love it. The club is in a beautiful setting with lots of sporting facilities. Perfect for adults and children. We loved the foot at the club house. The swimming pools are great and my husband loved the golf. We have just found out that stanstead fly to the local air port which is just 20 mins down the road so we will be back for a long weekend before the end if the summer. We usually drive but this means we can visit more often.

Stayed in chalet on complex, very clean, tidy and comfortable. Not being a golfer myself found the other facilities on the complex very good. The staff were friendly and the food and service at the club house was excellent. Walked around the course very nice and challenging. A very good base to use if you want to go canoeing down the Dordogne river, look at the various chateau's and medieval villages around the area, Rocomodor a must see.....

I must confess we (2 adults with 2 young children) are a kind of SSC addicts, and I can't recall the exact number of times we stayed at their lodges. We tried to find alternative accomodation for our (summer) holidays, but we decided to stick with the Club because we simply love the well equiped and spacious houses, the golf course, the swimming pools, the tennis course, the friendly and helpful staff and of course the Dordogne with its casthles, markets, caves etc.
Is there a down side? Yes, but these are just minor; some lodges have steep pathways or gardens, and aren't therefore very suitable for small children or people with difficulties with walking. It's probably best to contact the reception before making a reservation, as they're willing to provide advice. The restaurant serves good quality food for fair prices, but opening hours are typically French; an early dinner at 6pm is not an option. On the days I don't feel like cooking, we'll have lunch instead and a simple meal in the evening.
