“Love it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

Great atmospere, and friendly service! I love the red mountain chicken(cannot speak for anything else since that is all I ever order). The bartenders, and sushi chefs are so nice! Lunch menu is very reasonably priced, you get a good helping with a side of rice included. Ginger Ice cream is so good and fresh. There is movie night on mondays, and other events during the week, there is also a band on the weekends. I like this place, I think everyone should try it at least once!

“Food & Atmosphere- BARELY OK”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2012

Will not be returning to Thai Taste. Will go back to our regular authentic Thai restaurant SIVALAI located Fairhaven. Sivalai is small in size but HUGE in flavor and personality!

As a local had been wanting to try Thai Taste for years since we usually went next door to the Healthy Grill. Wanted to try something different tonight. Choose to eat on the lounge side since the Celtics were playing. Bar seating was full so put 2 lounge tables together. Seating was comfortable. The over whelming smell from the kitchen Fryolator should have been a warning!!! Ordered jasmine tea that came in a small glass carafe with a tea bag that tasted like dish water. Ordered a side of brown rice (no rice with main meal) that was tasty. My meal of Red Dragon with chicken was nicely pungent, tender, though scant on vegetables and nuts. Unfortunately the food had a Very Unpleasant palatable aftertaste of oil. Tums to the rescue! My husband reported his Pad Thai Beef sauce was pungent and tasty but also heavy in oily taste. This is not the type of heavy oily cooking we are accustom to eating, others may have a more tolerant GI system. GoodLuck

“Good Food, Friendly Staff, Fun Lounge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2011

Whether you choose to dine at the bar or at a table, the menu options and service are both very good. The Pad Thai is fresh and well prepared, with a nice contrast of tastes and textures. The noodles and fried rice were similarly well prepared, but the tempura went a bit to heavy on the batter. Drinks are well prepared by an attentive bar staff.

Service is very friendly and efficient, operating in a comfortable dining room setting on one side and a lounge on the other side that is well suited to watching football with friends.

“Third time wasn't a charm....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2011

Our shrimp Tom Yum soup was watery, flavorless and bland, with a few sprigs of mushy cilantro and a couple of mushroom slices. We told our server the soup wasn't at all spicy, and she made a face and said she knew that, it's the way the kitchen makes it. The soup had three tiny, tough overcooked shrimp. My shrimp Pad Thai noodles were overcooked, and the portion was just dumped on a plate with no garnish. There were 4 very small overcooked shrimp. My husband had Crispy Hot Basil Chicken. The very few pieces of fried battered chicken were not crispy. The batter was mushy and falling off the meat due to the watery sauce. His meal also looked like it was just dumped on the plate with no effort at presentation. What their website photos show is far different than what you get. The dinner portion sizes were small for the price charged. It is interesting that menu items like Pad Thai were the same price with meat as without. Normally vegetarian dishes are a bit less expensive, but perhaps the meager amount of meat they serve here is the reason. We have tried this place several times, thinking perhaps we were there on a bad night. Now we know that all nights are the same and this is not a place we will return to.

“Eat-in is better than take-out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2011

Since this is the closest Thaie restaurant to us, we go here frequently. We prefer to do takeout because the food isn't cheap and the restaurant itself is not very inviting to children, but it's a catch 22 because the food is better when you eat in. For some reason it just never tastes fresh when you carry it home in one of those little paper boxes, in particular fried rice dishes. Overall I enjoy the food; the yellow and green curries are particularly good and the Thai iced tea is a real treat.
