“unexpected surprise”
Reviewed 22 July 2009

We were pleasantly surprised by this motel. The room was spacious and clean, the large bed was comfortable, and the balcony/porch overlooking Cape Cod Bay was a treat. The staff was friendly and the breakfast on Adrian's outside balcony was a highlight. We traveled with a large dog and thought that this place was perfect for her with nice walking trails and pet relief areas--plus lots of other dog walkers. This is a no frills establishment, but it was certainly well worth the cost of the room.We highly recommend it for the "value" minded or those requiring pet friendly accommodations.

We just concluded our second year at The Outer Reach Resort. We just love it here. The grounds are well-kept, the rooms are spacious and clean and the views are breath-taking. The people are very friendly and that is a big plus considering some of the Cape's other motels. The location is just perfect. The only thing that would make it better would be to have Internet access. We've already booked our vacation for next year.

The only really positive thing I can say about this hotel are the views which are absolutely breathtaking. Other than that, don't expect much else.

The rooms are extremely dated, much like something out of the 1950's, with no interior corridors (you park in front of your door) and bathrooms with old fixtures and tiling.
There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room which I did not use. The television was a small 19" (if even that big) that did have expanded cable with many channels to choose from. The beds were fairly comfortable, but the blankets were old and disgusting. You may wish to bring your own bed clothes (at least your own blankets) if you stay here. The pool was nice and the area around it well-kept.

The lack of interior corridors and no electronic doors and locks was a big turn off so if you are traveling alone you may wish to factor this into your decision. I am in no way saying this hotel is unsafe, but still in this day and age, one never knows.

My stay at Horizons was mediocre at best and would most likely not stay here again until they invest more in some significant upgrades. Calling this place a resort is a stretch at best. It is a very dated 1950's style motel-nothing more, nothing less.

We have stayed here in the past and have always had a wonderful expierence. The view of Provincetown Harbor is spectacular. Our room had a small patio (deck) with 2 chairs overlooking the bay. There are trails and it is a pet friendly motel. There is a restaraunt on the grounds for your convience with an outside patio of the bay. The rooms are clean with a seperate vanity area for your toiletries. They also have a microwave and small fridge. They do not however provide shampoo or have a hairdryer. Other than that, I would definetly stay there again and recommend it to friends ;-)

What a great "old jewel" in the Cape Cod crown! The staff was superb, very willing to assist. The room was a tad dated, but immaculate! Deck with a beautiful view, parking right by your door. Fridge, microwave and single cup coffeemaker. Enjoyed the restaurant, Adrians, in fact, ate there all three nights!. Nice LARGE, clean pool--I didn't use it as I'm a beach guy. Just a few miles from Provincetown and beaches. All in all a GREAT deal for the money!

This is by far the best part of Cape Cod - the Outer Cape and the beaches of Cape Cod National Seashore. The Outer Reach Resort is no frills, but pet friendly, clean, great service (complete with welcome-dog, Chipper), and convenient to all the local beaches and the bustle of Provincetown. A great value and one of our favorite spots!

We had a great stay here, pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a great deck! Bathroom was cute & quaint, with a Cape Cod feel. The extra sink and counter space in the room was excellent and very handy. Micro fridge was very convenient. Location was private, way off Route 6 with great views. Perfect for dogs, plenty of "business" areas, no worry of cars. Staff was all friendly and helpful, esp. Jan. I would say the only cons were that I wished the large windows had more screen space, they only opened at bottom. Mattresses could be updated I guess. Overall, we had a GREAT time!
