“Best of Cape Cod!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

We recently stayed 3 nights at Sandbars on Cape Cod Bay. The Cape is wonderful in the off season. From my first encounter via email and then phone, I knew there was something special about this place. Pattee, the general manager is awesome to work with and meeting her in person was great. She treated us like family .

We had a wonderful waterfront room with amazing views. There were 2 queen/double beds, a well stocked kitchenette and this room was spotless. The beds were very comfortable. All the details were covered. The only thing I might add to that particular room was a slightly larger fry pan. The room has Wi-Fi and a DVD player. Our slider led to a small deck with chairs. The beach has several seating options and very comfortable cushions on the wooden beach chairs. There is even a fire pit.

Pattee gave us restaurant and grocery store recommendations as well as local hiking trails in the National Seashore. We spent hours one day whale watching from Herring Cove Beach..saw at least 8 whales from the beach, including humpback, fin and right whales...we did need binoculars for this activity most of the time but did see a few closer to shore. Also walked Race Point beach. The beach right outside the slider from our room is quite long and one morning I walked to Provincetown!

We were in the area primarily for bird watching and Sandbars is about half way between the Welfleet Audubon Sanctuary and Race Point. Perfect location. Beech Forest Trail is great for birdwatching..and met up with a fox on this trail as well. We hiked the Cedar Swamp Trail at the Marconi Site and the Nauset Hiking trail at Salt Pond Visitors center.

We made our breakfast every day and packed a picnic lunch. We had Pizza at Savory's Grill which was wonderful and one night we ate at Montano's Italian Restaurant which was very good.

We will absolutely be back to Sandbars!

This was my first time vacationing at the Cape. We stayed for a week. The pictures of the Sandbars Inn did not do it justice. At check in we were greeted like family coming home. In fact, the entire trip felt that way. The owners helped us with directions to the grocery store. They gave us directions to the lighthouses (which were not yet opened for the season) but we enjoyed looking and taking pictures. The owners told us about Commercial Street and all the shops we would find. We did enjoy the sites, but we also enjoyed walking the shore, sitting on the beach and making smores. Our room was clean and well stocked. Everything worked properly in the kitchen, which we put to good use. We utilized the the wifi, television and DVD player without any problems. In fact the only problem we had was with a light bulb, which was fixed by the time we returned from our first outing. Our view from our balcony has to be the best in the Cape. We could see Long Point and Wood End lighthouses from our balcony. I will definitely return to Sandbars Inn, only when it is warmer ( I went in April).

The Sandbars is my favorite place to stay on Cape Cod. The rooms are beautifully decorated with fully-equipped kitchens, Wifi, flat-screen televisions, DVD players, and HBO. It's very peaceful and quiet, yet conveniently located near area attractions, restaurants, the supermarket and Commercial Street in P-Town. Most of the elegant rooms (14 out of 16) have sliding doors leading directly onto the beach, or out to balconies that offer stunning views of Cape Cod Bay. Here you'll see some gorgeous sunsets. Their are tables and chairs outside for dining al fresco, or simply lounging around. The people who run the property, Pattee and Brian, go above and beyond to make certain your stay is enjoyable. It's well worth the money. A slice of heaven.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great and extremely comfortable. The beds are like sleeping on clouds. You might n...

We spent a three day weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is perfect, right on the ocean. Behind us are those famous sand dunes. One can see Provincetown to the right. To the left it looked like one could see all the way to Plymouth!
The accommodations were comfortable, immaculate and up to date. We will be back

Recently spent 2 nights at Sandbars...it was lovely. Well maintained, super clean, the beach is right outside your door, and the hosts, Brian and Pattee, were simply wonderful. Even my dog had a great time. Perfect spot to kick back and relax. Very quiet and peaceful with the ocean breeze and sound of the waves...nice little touches like fresh flowers in the room. I would return here in a heartbeat. During our short stay, we enjoyed the local seafood. Had we stayed longer, the kitchen was equipped with anything we could have wanted to cook meals with. Close to P-Town and other attractions, yet remote and quiet. Loved it!

Room Tip: We had a room on the lower level, so it was out the door and step into the sand.

We just got back from a two-night stay at Sandbars and were very happy with our accommodations. We had a second floor king room and the ocean view from our room was really lovely. It's hard to describe but the room just had a really clean, light and airy feeling, and was set up very conveniently with a fully equipped kitchenette and a small island for dining. At night the room was VERY dark thanks to blackout curtains which made for a great night's sleep. The first afternoon we headed out to sit in two of the many Adirondack chairs on the property, very peaceful. We drove to P'town both days and evenings for shopping and dining, it's a very quick five minute drive. Pattee the manager was very nice and quickly responded to our call for help with a small issue with the TV remote. Highly recommend!

After we left Sandbars last year we couldn't wait to return. Now we are counting the days till our next Sandbars visit (reservation has been made) in 2014.

Pattee and Brian run a first class operation. The rooms and the property are spotless and wonderfully appointed. The kitchen, for us, is ideal (with all cooking items needed) to prepare gourmet meals (for 2). During our 5 day stay we cooked every meal in our room (with wonderful fresh fish from Macs Seafood in Truro center). Being able to have our dog, Dana, with us makes Sandbars our perfect vacation spot on the Cape.

We can't wait to go back to Sandbars :)
