The Dockside Inn was a terrific place. My wife and I enjoyed the clean and modern rooms, which have recently been renovated according to the website. The Inn is steps away from the "main drag" of Oak Bluffs, which has bars, restaruants, movie theaters, arcades, etc. best of all, the Inn is a short walk from a public beach and provides you with beach towels, chairs, and toys. We really liked our stay here and would definitely come back again.

We just left the DocksideInn...Very disappointed with being awakened every morning for 3 mornings to loud garbage trucks..At 6:30 mind you!We felt as though it really is not a kid friendly Inn.It is more for couples..Was happy to have a coffee bar area..but it didn't open until 8:00am.Kathy who works at the front desk was amazing..She was so helpful and happy ALL the time..We will miss you Kathy..On the other hand was very disappointed by the manager Tiffany who seemed very stressed and not happy.I felt as though we were bothering her every time we had a question..Did not get that warm fuzzy feeling at all from her..And we were not the only ones to complain about her either that stayed there. It is a convenient place to stay..You are near everything.Probably will not return to the Inn...Again not really kid friendly!Kids can be loud and want to have fun..We were spoken to rudely ...us and another couple with kids by Tiffany. If Kathy is there full time we will be back..She made it feel as though kids were welcomed.

We spent a night at the Dockside in early August. The young lady at the front desk was extremely helpful with great suggestions for us for beaches and restaurants. It was our first time on the island and we were excited to get exploring. Loved the well-stocked snacks, the outside patio, the hot tub, and most of all, the outdoor shower. Very convenient location if you don't take a car over on the ferry. Hope to be back one day!

The Dockside Inn is fabulous-great location; great customer service; rooms were very clean and tastefully updated. This was my first trip to Martha's Vineyard and I could not have picked a better place to stay. It is close to everything-restaurants, shops, Circuit Ave., the beach and the ferry dock. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got the ride of a lifetime in the 1956 Rolls Royce courtesy car. I plan to return to Martha's Vineyard next summer and of course stay at the Dockside Inn in Oak Bluffs. I absolutely loved the experience-it was "Simply the Best"!

Room Tip: I stayed in room #1 on the first floor. I had a partial view of the harbor and a nice sitting area...

Just returned from the Dockside and as usual unjoyed our stay. This Inn has been beautifully renovated and under new management.. Everything was EXCELLENT right from the start. All employees were attentive to the needs of the guest and they ALL work hard to make this Inn a great experience. We will be making our reservations for next year as soon as we can.

Absolutely the best location on the island. Everything you could want to do is right there. Rooms have no frills but are very well kept and clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very relaxing, first vacation I have ever been on and done no work.

My wife and I stayed at the recently renovated Dockside Inn in early August 2012. It is situated in Oak Bluffs, Martha Vineyard only a short walk (even with luggage) from the pier where the ferry from New Bedford, MA disembarks. There's plenty to do in the area for kids and adults. Several beaches are nearby including the public section of the East Chop Club and State Beach. Plenty of stores to shop and plenty of places for adults and kids to eat. The hotel is also located a stone's through from Martha Vinyard's public transportation system (but day passes if you're staying for a while). The hotel offers a number of surprising (and complimentary!) amenities such as frozen popsicles and fresh baked cookies. There is free Wi-Fi in guest rooms as well. The staff was very engaging and full of tips that made our stay enjoyable and trouble free. There's even a virtual concierge named Loomis available to respond to any question you can send via text to an established number. I spent a considerable amount of time trying to guess who Loomis was, but was unsuccessful. We stayed during a week day so the rate was reasonable, quite reasonable when compared to Boston and/or NYC hotel rates. The staff went out of its way to make sure our stay was all we wanted it to be. John, the owner, even dropped us off at the local East Chop beach a Rolls Royce before heading tothe airport for a guest pick up. He offered, we didn't ask. Talk about anticipating our needs! In summary, if you can get a room at the Dockside..take it. You won't be disappointed. No, I am not Loomis.
