“Victorian Cottages Galore!”
Reviewed 17 July 2011

The Martha's Vineyard Campmeeting Association was established in 1835 and today operates the Tabernacle which holds services once a week in July and August. The Tabernacle is surrounded by a park and hundreds of beautifully painted Victorian cottages, some of which are still available for rent by the Association.

The Campground also has a small museum housed in a Victorian cottage furnished as it might have been when first built. Admission to the museum is $2.00 for adults and $.50 for children.

Walk around the grounds and enjoy the Victorian painted cottages, gardens, and park. Sit in the Tabernacle and recollect your thoughts. Ditto for the nearby Methodist Church. It's a world apart from the busy nearby shopping street.
