Convenient to walk to from inn. Seaweed, lots of shells and small rocks but still nice. Shallow water for children with very small waves

The beach just down from the ferry pier had terrible access. Go further south a few miles fro a real beach.

Not beautiful but easy access beach with parking on the side of the road. Calm water great for kids and sandcastle building. Popular in summer (4th of July - Labor Day). A thinner beach but excellent for long walks and sunrise views. Begins at the Oak Bluffs ferry pier and keeps going to Edgartown. South Beach is the popular, sand dunes, waves crashing in island beach.

narrow and rocky- more like a waiting area for the ferry. Most people are dressed in shorts or casual wear since they are waiting for the OB ferry back to Woods Hole.

This beach has calm waters and is suitable for actual swimming. The public bus drivers will stop anywhere along this beach that you ask. Nice beach to walk and collect sea shells.
