“Small but got all you need from a large resort.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2014

My two kids (5 yrs and 7yrs) learned how to ski at this place, all the instructors really teach them how to ski. After 3 lessons, they were going down the hill without any problem. They had a better time compared to other two times we took them on more expensive resort. i was worried that this place was old and small, but so glad i took them there. A little tricky to get off the lift chair, fast and steep. But my kids were a pro getting off, so this will prepare them for worse out there.

“one complaint”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2014 via mobile

We ski in the area with my 6 year old and this place seemed very nice... very small but cozy. Everyone was very nice, you park RIGHT in front, and the lodge was very cozy. My only complaint was one the one lift, when you get to the top you literally have one second to get off the lift. My six year old has to jump and fell on her face and I hade to jump from about 3 feet. The people behind us had the same issue. My daughter would NOT get back on the lift after that.....I talked to a few people there and they said that is kind of an issue. If it wasn't for that would probably be back.... cute place.

“Homey and a little bit of the past”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2013

A ski instructor friend suggested Otis Ridge as a great place to take our church youth group for a ski outing. It was, she said, inexpensive (and, relative to most ski areas, it was); not overwhelming (it wasn't); and suitable for the kids (and adults) who had never skiied before (it was). It was easy to find everything, and just a step off the highway. I didn't get out on the slopes (took pictures instead) but the kids who had not skiied before reported that they liked it, and the more experienced skiiers found it refreshing and not particularly competitive. It was really informal, not pushy or competitive at all, and a nice place to take your kids. A couple of the adults who accompanied the group were a little sad not to find more challenging skiing, but that can be found at other ski areas in our geography.

“Best little ski area!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2012

I grew up at Otis Ridge Junior Ski Camp, where my parents were instructors and counselors. I spent every winter weekend and holiday there from 1957-1972. I finally was able to return after 40 years last weekend to find the area has not changed much at all! It is still a small, family oriented area with lots of heart and soul! The lodge and ski shop have not changed a bit, maybe a little more worn. The old Poma lift has been replaced by a chairlift and the J bar is gone. There are a few more trails between The Flying Dutchman and the Robber Oak. But The Slalom HIll is still the bomb!! Very affordable rates, very short lift lines, very friendly staff, good snow cover... what a great day of skiing

“Oh Man, what a feeling!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2010

Step back 50 years. The way skiing used to be. The lift is small and clangy, but always gets you to the top. Even the "long lines" are short. The runs are short yet sweet. A couple of winding trails down the center are fun for a few thrills. The lodge is small, cozy, with a wood stove in the middle and everyone knows everyone else. The lift is right next to the lodge. Prices are reasonable. You can talk to anyone. They make junky food for the kids. You've gotta stop in the rental/store just to see the place. Soooo retro.
