Pretty good for a small town museum. Several interactive activities spread through out the facility which are of interest to adults and children. Exhibits are easy to navigate. Parking can be a challenge. Check the exhibit schedule to see if the rotating exhibits are of interest. There is also a theatre in the facility which offers separately ticketed shows for families.

We went to the museum on a tuesday morning with our boys (5 and 6). We were worried because the only parking we could find was on the street - signs said 90 minute parking. Not to worry, you won't be inside that long. The Dino room was disappointing and the aquarium was tiny. There were 2 "touch tanks" - one had 4 things in it, the other was empty. If you have kids, don't even bother with the top floor. $13 is a lot to charge for this.

This is a children's museum, science and industry, and art museum rolled into one. Our family with small children enjoyed our visit and hands on activities (digging for dinosaur bones, touch tank, exhibit search). Membership to the museum is good buy and provides access to a number of other museums. The second floor houses art; the temporary exhibits can be interesting (we just missed one on native american art). The permanent collection is a bit of pick and mix with replicas of several famous works (finally I get to see Winged Victory up close).

Many people don't know about the Berkshire Museum and that is a shame because it is a great small museum with interesting collections and fascinating exhibitions that keep things fresh. Plenty of things to interest young people. Several years ago there was a great exhibit on germs and also a live stage show of African music and dance that was very colorful and lively.Well worth a visit.

A real gem worthy of a bigger city. Always changing with top level exhibits.
