“Great Food, Great Value!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2014

No where else can you eat on the waterfront with great views of the harbor for such a cheap price. This restaurant is always consistently delicious which is very hard to find in town these days. You get a lot of food for the money so I'm always guaranteed leftovers for the next day's lunch.

“My favorite pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2014 via mobile

I've lived in town over 20 yrs and this Italian restaurant is my favorite for pizza and other Italian faves. I won't order pizza anywhere else. Service is excellent and the view is splendid.

“The best pizza around!”

I know they have lots of delicious Italian entrees, but the pizza is so good we order it every time.

“Excellent Food, Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2013 via mobile

We had the lasagna and veal Parmasiana and was delighted with both! The bread was awesome! I had a local seasonal wheat beer and was pleased with it. My husband opted for Mamma Mia's root beer. He stated it was good.

It was priced fairly. The staff was polite and attentive. I couldn't have asked for more.

“Buffet or dinner at the bar, try Mamma Mia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2013

I have had the pleasure of the buffet at Lion's Club meetings in this terrific, hospitable restaurant. On other occasions, its been dinner at the bar with attentive bartenders who need little urging to make dinner suggestions that are uniformly excellent.
Portions are generous, wait staff handy but not intrusive. A number of long-term staff will give you the impression that you're eating at their house rather than their place of work. Noisy, well yes, but the noise of old friends welcoming each other near the entry sounds like a neighborhood gathering. The laughter of pre-dinner customers suggests that they've waited together before and don't mind the, usually brief, wait for seats for a sumptuous dinner.
It's a happy place where you are an honored guest of the Viscariello family even if you are a first timer.
I grew up in a "come'ere, let me give you a hug" Italian neighborhood. The excellent food (I've never had a bad meal) and the welcoming attitude sends me on a nostalgia trip to DiCicco Square in Worcester. You'd think that Mamma is cooking in the kitchen and sending her kids out to look after her friends who had stopped by for dinner.
The food is excellent, truly excellent, and served with a quiet smugness that says "before your first bite, we know that you're going to love this meal." They're right, the dinners are first class. Ignore the occasional comments from the nattering nabobs of negativism, this is good food at very reasonable prices. Mamma Mia's is crowded and noisy because the crowd is enthusiastic about the dinner they're about to eat. After all, if it's always crowded, I trust the judgment of diners who vote with their feet.
Do yourself a favor. Eat with the crowd and enjoy their company and the waterfront.
What sort of visit? Couples and family and friends and business and solo all apply. You can't go wrong, unless you don't go. Did I mention that I really love this place?
