We've been here a couple of times now just to relax at the beach. We use the annual interagency pass to get in instead of paying $15. The beach is as wide as you can walk, white sand, but also lot of stones here and there when you go into the water, so probably the RacePoint beach is a little more kid friendly, if those beaches are at all. The public facilities are pretty new and clean, restrooms, showers, change rooms. Really high quality.
Tip for a 2h morning hike: we started here at Herring Cove to walk along the beach to the next light house in the south, probably 2miles and then headed back across the waterbreak walk and then the street,
