“Drive Right up to Beach”

Our family really enjoyed Herring Cove Beach today. It is known to be more kid-friendly because there are no undercurrents and the water is much warmer than Race Point Beach. Our children had a lot of fun playing in the waves for a couple of hours! There is a nice bath house where we were able to shower afterwards and get rid of the sand before our drive back to the hotel. Great day in Provincetown!

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

Beaches are my favourite holiday destination! They come in all shapes and sizes, but they need to have as many of:
- a great view, whether of a bay, offshore island or bobbing yachts
- good people watching
- not crowded with noisy families
- not overlooked from the town or the street
- ability to enjoy the water, ie not too cold, rough or rocky
- sandy not pebbly or rocky
Unfortunately after half an hour at Herring Cove, having paid 15 dollars to get in, we were ready to leave. Even after leaving behind us those who wanted to sit right in front of their vehicle in the car park there was no vibe, no beautiful people, and only a narrow strip of sloping sand. All a bit down market, not what I was expecting, especially after some glowing reviews from other visitors.

“Ouch - rocks are a killer to your feet”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

This was a nice beach, but the rocks in the sand keeps it from being enjoyable in my opinion. It has really nice facilities and a restaurant which is great, but other than that - Go to Race Point Beach!!

“Great beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014 via mobile

This beach is a favorite of mine!! You can park your car right up on the beach which is awesome. At the end of the parking lot is a nice trail that will take you to Race Point. The beach does have a lot of rocks so bring shoes because walking on the sand can be uncomfortable. Great beach and great views of the boats leaving and coming from the Provincetown Harbor!

“Wonderful beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

Went here after Race Point beach was too windy and water too cold. Absolutely beautiful beach with easy access from parking lot. Nice size waves, less wind. Kids loved finding beach stones of all colors on the beach. Neat tidal pools and rivers as tide went out. Great place for floats. Not too crowded and clean. Bathhouse down the road was clean and had a great snack bar, Highly recommend this beach and will return.
