We had an amazing time at the Fairbanks, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a perfectly lovely place to stay in p-town. The owners are helpful and sweet, and our room was beautiful. I will be back as soon as possible to the Fairbanks Inn....oh, and breakfast was delish!!

We have stayed at the Fairbanks Inn multiple times over the years under its former owners and always had good personal experiences. The Inn has now changed hands and its new owners and staff are extremely nice.

This trip fell over my birthday and a kind note and bottle of wine greeted us in the room. Julia, one of the Inn's employees, provided a vivacious welcome and continued to impress us with her sweet personality throughout the stay. David, one of the new owners, was always personable each morning and created a nice variety of breakfast treats each morning. Everyone working at the Inn was always personable and welcoming.

The renovations to the Inn are ongoing and we look forward to seeing its continued transformation. The Inn is in an excellent location and a convienent walk anywhere in town. The renovations are a comfortable, fresh and updated beachy feel for this old Captain's house. The new towels, bed linens and pillows were also fantastic.

Above all else, the service was great and the new owners definitely look to make sure guests enjoy their stay. We will continue to stay at the Fairbanks Inn. While we missed the former "living and dining room" which were converted to created more usable space in private rooms, the renovations were well done and future plans sound exciting! We wish David, Kevin and the Fairbanks Inn Team all the best and look forward to continued stays!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, a room upstairs or in the back of the house might be a better choice tha...

Thank you for your kind review, SGDelaware! We greatly appreciate your invaluable feedback on the "comfortable" and "fresh" renovated room you stayed in. We have stopped all work on the renovation for the season (in an effort to minimize disruption to our guests), and are excited to finish the complete overhaul of the property this winter. You are correct - our main focus each day is to provide our guests with a positive experience and to provide service that exceeds your expectations. We are looking forward to your return trip next year for your feedback on the finished result!

Great stay, very kind and accommodating hosts, David, Kevin, Julia and staff. The rooms were clean and minimal, very comfortable, cozy and eclectic, with artful details like the old-fashioned key ring for the do not disturb message. They welcomed my husband's birthday with chilling wine, almonds and a lovely handwritten note, not to mention the upgraded rooms to a suite - perfect for a really tall guy! We were very touched by that! Loved the rain shower head, pristine white towels, Further hand soap and Bigelow products! The sun room and lush outdoor garden were perfect spots for a gourmet breakfast which changed daily: lavender and olive oil cake, moist carrot cakes with dollops of cream cheese; decadent hummingbird cake; homemade granola with ginger and sesame seeds. Just the sweet morning smells wafting up to your room will charm you right out of bed! In the afternoons, it was nice to take some wine up to the rooftop deck and lounge and read and sip. Their proximity to Commercial Street was really convenient. Just one block over. We ate lunch at Canteen twice - yes, it was THAT good! Lobster roll, buttery perfection. Cod banh mi was my favorite - tangy, fresh, crisp! Make sure you sit out back where they play old records and there is a postcard perfect water view. Victor's was another favorite dinner spot. Share plates of crispy calamari, meatballs in frico cups, scallops on polenta. Excellent raw bar. Edwige is a cozy place to sup too. I recommend the cod, a fisherman's stew of chunks of lobster, mussels, lots of cod and new potatoes in a buttery tomato broth. I could hardly finish. A lush spot for a beer or cocktails is the Nor' East Beer Garden during the day. We also liked the lively Squealing Pig for late afternoon or evening beer. These two spots had a respectable list of craft beers and Nor' East has inventive cocktails with homegrown herbal infusions. Commercial street shopping favs included kitchen store, Utilities and this little shop called Luxories, where I scored a hand-blocked tablecloth from Vietnam, and they have movie posters that artists have reinterpreted in their own styles. I bought Cimema Paradiso. Can't wait to frame it! Strolling and poking in all the stores and galleries, you will find something new every day, and there is the tacky to the sophisticated. Race Point Beach was relaxing and quiet during the day. We also biked the National Seashore park trails. Some wicked hills, one minute you're in desert and the next deep forest. Bikes are available at Ptown Bikes on Bradford street. They are knowledgable and friendly. Great thing about Cape Cod, if there is a crack in the street, someone will plant a flower there. Beautiful and charming. Great stay, sad to leave, highly recommend The Fairbanks Inn and Provincetown.

Room Tip: Ask how large the room is since older inns typically have smaller rooms.

I am overwhelmed with joy reading your very kind words and review! We work hard to create a unique and memorable experience for each guest that stays with us. I agree with you - the Further hand soap and Bigelow bath amenity products are to die for! I will be sure to pass on your positive feedback to our chef who makes our decadent breakfasts each morning and to the rest of our "accommodating" staff. I am so thrilled that you enjoyed your recent time at our property! We are sincerely looking forward to you and your husband returning for another relaxing stay.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us for your recent two-night stay - it was our pleasure to accommodate you and your husband. The wooden floors are original to the inn that was originally built as a captain's home in the 1700's - I think they are beautiful, too! We are very proud of our renovated rooms (the Standard King and Superior King), and are thrilled that you enjoyed the new decor, furnishings, and bathroom. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon!

If you need an excuse to visit Provincetown the Fairbanks Inn is it! We stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary and were well looked after from the start. Bubbly & chocolates greeted us in the beautifully appointed room and the welcome from the staff was lovely. Breakfast was wonderful and changed every morning! My husband tried his best to sample everything on offer over our three night stay! We cannot recommend this B&B enough.

Congratulations on your 25th wedding anniversary! We do our best to make every guest feel special with personal touches - I am so glad to hear that your stay was a "perfect" way to celebrate such joyous occasion. Thank you for recognizing our lovely staff and the quality of our breakfast. I, too, find it hard to sample everything each morning! We look forward to seeing you on your return visit to The Fairbanks Inn.

The friendly proprietors and staff were very accommodating when I asked to change my room. The breakfast, served in a lovely sunroom overlooking the garden, was imaginative and delicious, and they even accommodated gluten free requests with prior notice. They have just bought the property and are still improving it, so some if the outside decks are a little worn out, but nothing serious that detracted from the lovely atmosphere. I would totally recommend the Fairbanks Inn if you plan to visit Provincetown.

I am thrilled that you were able to relish in our gluten-free treats at breakfast each morning during your stay. As someone who also cannot eat gluten, I know how hard it can be to eat delicious allergen-free foods while traveling. Our chef and staff go above and beyond to accommodate our guests with dietary restrictions by tailoring our entire breakfast to be allergen-free. As you mentioned, we did quite a bit of updating prior to our open this season, and are completing our renovation of the entire property this fall and winter. We look forward to your return and feedback on our renovations!

We were able to stay for just one night, but can't say enough great things about the inn. From 2 days before check-in, Julia emailing to check in our arrival time and make sure they were prepared to meet our needs. We needed a place to stow our bags well before check-in time and let us bike all day unencumbered. When we returned, we were introduced to our luxurious king room -- complete with dual shower, gas fireplace,, and remote controlled AC.
We were able to enjoy the roof deck and the courtyard. The inn thinks of every detail, including having bug spray accessible for all guests.
Breakfast was INCREDIBLE! Delicious and varied selections. Having stayed at a number of places in P-Town, this was the most satisfying stay yet. We hope to be back soon.

Lin, I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay in our recently renovated Superior King room with the dual shower and working fireplace! Thank you for your kind remarks about our attention to the small details (such as providing bug spray) and about our breakfast. I am thrilled that our property was the most satisfying for you compared to the other inns you have stayed at in Provincetown. We look forward to hosting you during your next visit to P-Town!
