If you're running 200 miles you definitely want to have a great place to stay at the finish line. My colleagues and I ran the Cape Cod Ragnar Relay and the place we chose was Christopher's by the Bay. This awesome B&B is perfectly located in town, close enough to the action and quiet enough to truly relax. Many of my teammates have never visited Provincetown and the staff at Christopher's made them feel instantly right-at-home. The best thing: Sitting in the quiet courtyard, drinking a cold beer, and unplugging for a while. Christopher's: The Official Destination of Team CARFAX Ragnar Team

Another wonderful visit at Christopher's. This time we visited for Spookybear. We had a fantastic time over the weekend, enjoying the great hospitality and entertainment in the town. The stay was excellent, and was all the more amazing thanks to the incredible generosity of our hosts Jim and David, who kept us safe and secure during Hurricane Sandy, and enabled us to extend our stay so that we didn't have to travel back to New York. They also helped us re-arrange travel and advised on the best options for our return to the UK via a different airport. Outstanding as always. We'll be back again and again!

It is always a pleasure hosting you both at Christopher's and we were happy to accommodate you safely during the devastation and turmoil caused by Hurricane Sandy. We look forward to visiting with you again when you return to Provincetown.

Christopher's by the Bay is a charming Inn within a block of the bay and near famous Commercial Street and other must-see attractions. This inn is an old Victorian full of charm, not a sterile McMansion hotel. The affordable rooms are cozy, turn-of-the century bedrooms – great places to rest up before you head out about town. The inn also has several inviting open spaces, often with food out for guests. Two dogs and a decanter of sherry greeted us upon arrival. That was a nice way to start our vacation and stay.

I was especially impressed by the staff who are super-friendly and go out of their way to be helpful to guests. The innkeepers were especially gracious when we stayed on to avoid the worst Hurricane Sandy.

If you want to stay somewhere in Ptown that feels like you're staying at your family's house (without your annoying cousins), this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Each room is unique - they're Victorian bedrooms. Talk to the Innkeepers about what you want fro...

We stayed here in May 2012, before the peak season, and we had the place completely to ourselves! Dave was friendly and gracious, and entertained our queries for a good hangout spot around town.

We got the Georgia O'Keefe room, and though it was a bit small without much space to move around, we had a lovely view of the sea. Classical music was piping in, which lent the place a rather quaint charm. P-town was also supposedly close to freezing temperatures at the time, so we were very pleased that the whole building was warm.

Breakfasts were homey and delightful; love the juice. Thanks for the uninterrupted blissful stay.

Finally, after years of searching for just the right spot to stay in P-Town, we took a local's advice and booked a week at Christopher's By the Bay. It's not easy to host a B&B perfectly; you have to be chipper and accommodating without being intrusive or gabby. The owners, David and Jim, got this concept from the outset. So, while our rooms were pleasantly sunny in the daytime (and cleaned almost as soon as you'd leave for a jaunt into town), and comfortably restful at night, it's the friendly and familial tone set by the hosts that will have us staying nowhere else in town so long as they're in business. The breakfasts were just what you'd hope for to get up and moving; the patio quiet and open, but small enough to encourage conversation with fellow travelers. I've been to dozens of B&Bs over the years, and half a dozen in Provincetown alone. This is the best of the best. You can stay in more expensive places. You can stay in more historic locales or in the midst of the madness of any of the festivals over the summer. But you cannot get more for your money.

Stayed here for the first time this summer after having stayed in a variety of other places and definitely had the best time here! The house is traditional New England from the outside with all the modern amenities inside. The back patio is large and private with a koi pond and a few quiet spots tucked away for the reader in your group.
But the best part is the atmosphere, the hosts are amazing (kudos especially to Jim) who treat their guests as new friends. They are quick to suggest a great place to eat, the right time to attend Tea Dance or just join you for a drink on the back patio.
Situated between Commercial and Bradford Streets, it is perfectly placed for quiet at night but only a short minute's walk from the bars and restaurants.
I highly recommend Christopher's on the Bay for you alone, with a love interest or a group of friends.
