My partner and I stayed for bear week, the hotel was very nice but didnt really stand out in any way. The pool was great, the staff friendly and helpful, the bed was super comfortable, the rooms cleaned daily and the AC worked well. You could access free Wi Fi in the lobby (and in your room if you were close enough)
The breakfast was minimal (typical of any continental breakfast), and the walls were a bit thin (you could hear the rooms being cleaned next door) but they are the only criticisims I have.
TIP. hire a bike for your stay as it is a bit of a walk up Commercial Street from the centre of town.

Great location, good grounds but the rooms and bathrooms are a bit tired - I would say definitely trying but for the money, the value not quite there.

That said, It is one of the best located hotels in PTown with an easy walk down Commercial St to bars, restaurants and other attractions. The pool was well maintained and also you have option of swimming on beach side too. Breakfast didn't have many healthy options but it was simple good food. I recommend walking downtown and eating there instead - we ate at Devon's which was delicious.

I have read the other reviews and have to say the staff was nothing but kind to us - extra kind in fact - everyone said hello, answered our questions and let us store luggage the day we left all day. We had a pet with us and there were treats, dog bowl in the lobby.

If you want a place that's in a good location, has free/safe parking, easy to find then this is a good bet for you. Families, single, etc.

Room Tip: Pay more and stay on suite or Ocean side - really nice view of water, beach, etc

We thank you for your comments, I will be sure to pass this along to my staff. There are plans for this winter to give our waterfront rooms a new facelift, so if you return next season you will be a new more mordern look on the waterfront. As you know the rooms on the courtside were all completely remodeled just two years ago with a definate Cape Cod/Modern look.

My boyfriend and I stayed here one night midweek. We went in to the lobby and the manager (her name tag said so) glanced at us, kept us waiting, didn't offer a welcome or smile. Awful service. The place is decent, not amazing. The nice parts - you can order drinks by the pool which is kept well and heated. The beach was nice and quiet with lounge chairs. Our room was basic. The sheets and pillowcases had stains, but the rest of the room seemed clean. We had an oceanfront room with a shared balcony which was worth the extra few bucks. Drinks were good. Breakfast was included, but horrible food. Besides the pool, this place is good because of the location basically.

My family and I have been staying at the Surfside Hotel since 2000 (my family consists of six – 2 adults and 4 children…three of which are teenagers). In addition, my parents and other relatives typically join us for all or part of our annual Cape Cod trip. After years of exploring hotels on the outer Cape…I can honestly say that the Surfside Hotel offers the best accommodations, views, location and most importantly value. Honestly, there is no comparison. The next step down is a far cry from the Surfside. On more than one occasion we have arrived at a Cape Cod hotel to be shocked. The images on the internet must have been taken 10-15 years ago. To the other end of the spectrum, is the Surfside. The rooms are good sized, modern, immaculately clean and very well maintained. The staff is an interesting (in a good way) mix of locals and students from around the world. Everyone goes out of their way to be friendly and hospitable. The managers are friendly and are exceptional tour guides for the region. Each manager has helped guide family members to activities and attractions that appeal to them. Over the years, we have stayed both “poolside” and “bayside” (the property is divided by a street). Bayside rooms and suites give you AMAZING views of the ocean. First floor rooms allow you to literally walk out your door to the ocean. Fourth floor rooms offer breathtaking views. Thank goodness there is a small elevator available. The versatility of the hotel is one of its greatest features. It caters to EVERYONE (and I mean EVERYONE...including pets). Looking for a less expensive room with private beach access? Stay by the pool and simply walk across the street. My immediate family and I prefer the bayside and think it is worth the extra few dollars. If you are interested in staying bayside…BOOK EARLY! On more than one occasion we have ended up poolside because I didn’t reserve our rooms far enough in advance. On more than one occasion we have upgraded to their family friendly suites. Just the money we saved by eating in made it worthwhile. One suite had a king bedroom and another room with two twin beds. The sofa in the living room pulled out to be an additional bed…no one ended up on the floor and everyone was happy. Hearing the waves crashing into shore at night...there is nothing else like it. That said…my parents religiously stay next to the pool. They prefer to save the money and like the pool versus the ocean anyways. The hotel offers a great breakfast. My kids love the waffle makers! All in all, the breakfast is comparable to what you get at Hampton Inns and/or Comfort Inns. If you are planning to eat out there are two restaurants that we love. The most convenient is Fanizzi located next to the hotel. Our second favorite is the Lobster Pot. Don’t judge this book by its cover. You enter the restaurant by walking through their kitchen. Both restaurants offer exceptional service and meals. FIVE STARS for the Surfside Hotel…Cape Cod’s best place for a relaxing vacation.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money to stay bayside BOOK EARLY
