“Great and Super Comfortable Overnight Experience”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

The reception and departure at the front office was very professional, friendly and informative. The room was very clean, and the beds were supercomfortaby. Cape Colony location is excellent to all the local attractions. It is very easy to get to the rooms and the pool is fantastic. I especially enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast: waffles, fruits, cereal, bagels, juices, milk, coffee, yogurt, and it's nice to eat poolside or in your room!

Room Tip: The rooms are all very comfortable.

Green Features: Premises is clean and recycling is part of the hotel operations. Gardens, flowers and green are nice.

Cape Colony Inn was the perfect place for us to stay during Carnival week. Not only were the rooms very clean and cozy, but the staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a cozy and convenient home away from home!

I stayed for 2 nights in August & can't wait to go back next summer. Our room was clean & included a microwave, refrigerator, ironing board & iron, flat screen TV,Keurig coffee dispenser, & Free WiFi. The bed was comfortable, providing a great night's sleep.
Loved the waffles that come with the free breakfast along with bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal & fruit. There are several juices to pick from along with coffee & tea.
The pool is heated with great tables with umbrellas & comfortable couches surrounded by beautiful flowers. There is a fire pit which is surrounded with seating.
Another perk is the shuttle to town although it's a great walk.
Hope this gives others a feel for what a great place this is to stay. Sandy

Stayed at Cape Colony Inn for a week and had a very pleasant time. The hotel is in a great location - close to Commercial Street and it's shops, restaurants etc, but far enough out of the town so that you get a quiet night's sleep. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. We found all the staff to be friendly and polite, and always helpful. The breakfast was adequate, and we enjoyed sitting by the pool and eating it every morning. We didn't use the pool during our stay, but it looked clean and the area around it was well tended. There were no issues with ample on-site car parking.

Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed here several times and it has always been an enjoyable stay; the owners try very hard to make you feel welcome and do a good job. The bed and bedding is very comfortable, and the rooms are always clean. The furniture in our room was showing some wear, but overall the impression is positive. There was a little noise from the adjoining rooms and squeaks from the floor of the room above, but it was tolerable. The hotel provides pretty much a standard hotel continental breakfast - adequate, but not great. We enjoyed sitting at the heated pool and the fire pit is a nice touch.
Overall, it is one of the better values in Provincetown.

It was supposed to be a day trip to Provincetown on the ferry for my brothers birthday, but when a last minute cancellation came up at the Cape Colony we turned our trip into an overnight. We've stayed before so we know what to expect- large, clean rooms, comfy beds, soft pillows, and a filling continental breakfast with waffles, eggs, muffins, juice and coffee. My brother was staying at another hotel in town that made me appreciate the Colony even more- same amenities, similar prices, but the other hotel had rooms as small as some NYC hotels I've visited! You don't spend much time in your room- but you don't want to feel cramped when you are.

One last surprise- the front desk will tag and store your bags after you check out. We usually drive to Provincetown- but since we were on a late ferry and didn't want to lug our bags around town I asked. Definitely made our load a little lighter for our afternoon here.

Green Features: Bins in the rooms and on the grounds to separate trash from recyclables.

We booked during carnival week, which meant there were not a lot of options (thankfully, no minimum stay here at Cape Colony) and I guess for the season and Provincetown, it is a deal. Yet considering the following factors, I think $250/night is a bit much. I was disappointed by the size of our room (number 213) with just enough leg room between the side of the bed and a very loud refrigerator that we had to keep turned off. The crank to open the window was broken. There were large stains on the carpet. The dialpad on the phone had a faulty connection. These little things do matter. The staff were not friendly enough to make me feel I could speak to them about these issues. One looked bored out of their mind as if they hated their job (do I blame them?), and the response I got from another about the one issue I reported almost made me feel as if it were my fault. Breakfast is absolutely nothing special and is served at the reception desk. Lucky the weather was perfect so we could eat it outside.

That said, the 'inn' is in a quiet and at the same time, relatively convenient location about a 30-minute walk from the wharf. The bed was comfortable and clean. There are a number of amenities such as the heated pool (which we didn't get a chance to use since we were at the beach) with beautiful flowers around it, a fire pit with lounge chairs, ping pong table, etc. that may interest certain guests.

Moral of the story: book way in advance and avoid carnival week to get a place in Ptown that you actually feel is worthy of 250+ a night. Glad my stay was only 2 nights.

Room Tip: A single queen is quite small, at least 213 is.
