“Fantastic Place to Stay in Provincetown”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

We stayed for two nights near the end of our New England trip last October, and after numerous other stops found the 8 Dyer Hotel to be our favourite place to stay.

The 8 Dyer is situated in a great location just off the bustling Commercial Street in P-town, handily situated for many great bars and restaurants, all within walking distance. Do make reservations for dinner in season to avoid disappointment.

Tim and Frank were excellent hosts during our stay, providing great breakfasts, and even better recommendations for drinks and dinner, and we hope the Hotel is in similarly great hands now it has changed hands.

There wasn't much in the way of parking, so keys were left with the owners, so cars can be shuffled around as and when people need them, but not a major inconvenience.

We stayed in Room 10 which felt a little tight, mainly due to the luxurious and large bed taking up most of the room. Doors lead out on to decking overlooking the heated pool at the back of the property, and internally to the large communal area.

Dear Antony P:

Thank you for your review of 8 Dyer Hotel. Since you stayed here, we are under new management but we have tried hard to maintain the high standards set by Frank and Tim. We are so pleased that you enjoyed Room 10-- with its private deck that basically doubles the size of the room space, it is one of our best rooms.

We hope you will return to Provincetown and see what new amenities we are adding!

Best regards,

Steve and Brandon

My first visit to Provincetown was amazing, in large part due to my stay at 8 Dyer. Hotels can make or break a vacation, and my time at this hotel couldn't have been more enjoyable. Being picked up from the ferry in a luxury car was a nice surprise, and a great way to welcome guests. The hotel is very modern with lots of light, and there's a heated pool and jacuzzi. My room on the ground floor was clean and cozy. The BEST part, however, was breakfast - I've never seen such a spread! Fresh fruit, salad, eggs to order, cheeses, on and on...and all included! The service, quality, and accommodations exceeded my expectations - it's the only place I'll stay when I go back.

Dear Blue Ginger:

We are so pleased that you enjoyed staying at 8 Dyer Hotel! We really enjoyed having you and seeing you enjoy Provincetown for the first time. You mention the transfers from the ferry and airport that we provide; we think it is essential for guests who are unfamiliar with P'town to have this option available. As you discovered, once you get to know the town, you realize how walkable it is, but for those with luggage and being unfamiliar or if you just feel like arriving in style, we are pleased to offer this service.

Please come again and check out Provincetown in other seasons!

Best regards,

Steve and Brandon

Having stayed here last year, we were slightly apprehensive about new owners taking over the guesthouse. We really need not have worried!

Steve and Brandon truly are *perfect* hosts, exceeding all expectations -- from the welcome when we arrived, through the amazing breakfast (what a spread!), to the complimentary bikes, the lovely pool where we spent many hours sunning ourselves, the jacuzzi, and many, many other extras too numerous to mention. They are always available on call with a warm friendly smile, yet do not intrude, giving breathing space as well.

It felt like staying with really good friends, while having the amenities, comforts and convenience of an inn.

Just perfect. We've already booked our return trip for next year.

Our long-term and repeat guests are very important to us because we really get to know you and actually can become friends. You were the *perfect* guests, enjoying all that 8 Dyer Hotel has to offer, from bikes, to the pool, to the jacuzzi and the full breakfast. The inn becomes your home in Provincetown and you become residents. We are counting the days until your return.

Very kind regards,

If you are looking for an excellent place to stay in Provincetown, this is the place. The hosts, Brandon and Steve, make the visit meet every expectation. The accommodations are wonderful...heated pool, jacuzzi, bikes, and the best breakfast. My partner and I went for a quick celebration vacation and stayed for four days. The hosts were inviting, informative and accommodating. We cannot wait to go back.

We were in Provincetown for a family wedding which coincided with the beginning of Carnival Week. Several well recommended hotels were fully booked or required a long stay so we turned to Trip Advisor and--happily--found 8 Dyer. Steve and Brandon are the perfect hosts. I was back and forth in my car with wedding activities and Steve made certain that I always had a parking space, even parking it himself more than a few times when the space was challenging. When my husband felt unwell and took to his bed, Brandon made him a pot of tea with fresh mint from the garden. Because of the wedding we didn't have many opportunities to really enjoy breakfast but a fellow guest, a long time visitor to Provincetown, told me it was the best breakfast in town. All the rest was splendid: wonderful bed, spotless room, very good coffee available in the room, quiet neighborhood but steps from everything. We totally enjoyed our stay!

Arrived from NYC after 8 frenetic days to this little gem. Provincetown was recommended by an American friend and it didn't disappoint. 8Dyer street was wonderful and although room 9 was very small it is very well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Brendon is a great cook and genuinely enjoys cooking for his guests and both he and Steve are wonderful hosts. Thoroughly recommend this b&b it is a little gem and best wishes to these two enthusiastic new owners

We have been to P-town many times and stayed in quite a few guesthouses over the years. The owners, Steve and Brandon were friendly and attentive and know how to really make their guests feel welcomed. The pool is very relaxing. The breakfast was fantastic with a great selection of cheeses and cured meats, homemade baked goods and perfectly cooked eggs. The Malin + Goetz bath products, towels on the chairs along the pool, chilled bottles of water, complimentary tickets to the Carnival opening party and many other small touches really made this place stand out. I can't wait to return.
