“Wonderful place to stay, convenient location!”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

We continue to return to this location because the units are clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and you can't beat the location. We recently stayed in Colette and that was a great place, well maintained. Some units are kid-friendly and we were able to bring our toddler with us. A great experience overall.

Thank you for your a great review, your loyalty and your trust in us! We are indeed kid-friendly, pet-friendly, straight- and gay-friendly. To put it short, we are just lovely people! Just like you are.

Gabriel's staff is a family and we treat our guests the same. We are proud of our impeccable room service and restaurant-like free breakfasts. It always makes us happy to know that our guests are well attended to and want to come back again.

Perfect location to shop Provincetown. Several small buildings with remodeled rooms. Nice garden seating. Cooked to order breakfast, delicious. There are some negatives. Some rooms have street noise, like a street sweeper for one hour at about 4 am. The front desk lacks personnel, very difficult to ask for advice when the staff is unavailable. False Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, no response from staff, after about 15 minutes I finally figured out how to reset the alarm. Woke up the entire building and police were on scene. Never saw a single staff person.
Asked for a partial credit for our sleepless night, no response. Parking is far away.

While we appreciate your comments we would like to clarify a few of your statements. Street sweeper: the summer street sweeping occurs everywhere in Provincetown and if you stay in town, unfortunately there is street activity. We have no control over it. We are very sorry you did not find our front desk personnel. We are staffed 24/7 and the three owners live on the property. Because we are a small hotel, our front office person also helps guests if there is a question elsewhere on the property. Our staff carries a walkie talkie with them at all times and there is a convenient bell at the front desk to notify them if someone needs help. We apologize about the fire alarm but this is a legally required component of the property. Three staff members were immediately on the scene with the police and fire department as each room was checked. The fire alarm should have stayed on until the police chief determined there was no threat to the safety of the residents. There was something that was discovered in the back building and it was taken care of. Again, we apologize for your inconvenience but your safety came first.

My wife and I spent three nights at Gabriel's the week before Labor Day Weekend and we were not disappointed. First off, you could not ask for a better location in Provincetown. Everything is within walking distance - Commercial Street, dining, activities, Provincetown Harbor and shuttles to the beaches. You can even walk or bike to the beaches and it's not too far of a hike. We often just made quick stops back to our room during the day and were off again to other activities. The accommodations were also fantastic. We had a smaller-sized room but we still had more than enough space with a large, flat-screen TV, queen-size bed and both a desk and love seat. The rooms were also quite private and you could have some quiet despite being in the downtown area. The grounds and amenities were also quite nice, and the food was excellent. Every breakfast was made well, and there were plenty of options. The staff always had two options to choose from (usually a sweet and savory option made to order) and then plenty of coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt and beverages to choose from. We never felt rushed and were treated very well. And don't be deterred by the parking. You can get parking for $10/day in a nearby lot and the staff will take you in their clever cart to transport you from your car with your belongings to the property. You can also temporarily park your car to drop off your luggage.

The only thing pulling us back from marking this as an excellent place to stay is the level of service throughout our stay, which just seemed a bit inconsistent. It might have been due to the owners (both Elizabeths) not being around those days, but there were some small details not always covered, and some staff seemed a little taxed. For example, we had some trouble getting someone to assist us at the front desk with questions at times, and we noticed a child asking for a a somewhat simple alteration to their breakfast order, which was met with a rude response from the order taker who did not accommodate it. Toward the end of our stay we met both owners when they returned, and with their presence we immediately noticed an uptick in exceptional service across the board. They were attentive, fast-acting and I could see why everyone raves about them. Had they been around the entire time we probably would have given the inn an excellent grade. However we would definitely come back again and would recommend this inn to others!

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us!
Our central location is indeed a great advantage - shopping, entertainment, restaurants, and night life are all within reach. The inn is at the heart of Provincetown, but rooms are tucked away amiss the most beautiful gardens.
Parking is a challenge in town, especially during the season, and we are proud to offer convenient and affordable parking for our guests.
Thank you for the comments about the staff. Gabriel's staff is a family and we treat our guests the same. We apologizes if you found some inconsistencies in the service. We rely on our staff whether the owners are on the premises or not, and they never failed them.
We are proud of our restaurant-like breakfasts. It always makes us happy to know that our guests are well attended to and want to come back again. Our staff is ready to accommodate to any requirements or preferences of the guests, however we might be limited to the number of ingredients we have each day, since we get fresh and organic products each day right before breakfasts. If you our guests have any special whims or any dietary requirements we are always happy to accommodate them, provided they let us know at least a day in advance.
We hope to see you back with us some time soon!

It's the little things that go a long way at the Provincetown hotel. I stayed in the George suite with my daughter. As I looked around at the décor and room set up, one can see it's all in the details. The room was impeccable, spotless with all the necessary amenities and extras. There was a lantern in my closet for example. How cool is that? The made to order breakfast was a huge bonus while being able to enjoy it sitting outside in their perfect garden. Homemade cookies and beverages were available all day. The staff were all warm and friendly. The next time I visit Provincetown, I will surely come back to stay at this hotel.

Christine, we can't wait to welcome you back!
George is a truly special room with British flair. We take great pride in it. The room is spacious and cozy and has a nice porch overlooking the garden. "How cool is that!?"- right?
Our staff works hard to provide you with the great room service and match our free hot from-scratch breakfasts to those at a top-notch restaurant.
Book early, it is going to be a busy summer! We loved having you and are looking forward to seeing more of you, your friends and family at the Provincetown Hotel at Gabriel's.

Another wonderful visit at Gabriel's! The staff is amazing, the inn is extremely clean, nicely decorated and very well maintained. The gardens are a lovely surprise that you can't see from the street but are quite beautiful and a nice location for breakfast or just relaxing.

Both Christopher and Anna at the front desk are warm, helpful and professional! The breakfast room is large and welcoming with many delicious choices (including yogurt and fresh fruit as well as home-made oatmeal - for the health minded!). They also offer items that would stand up to any restaurant brunch.

We really can't wait to go back! Thank you Gabriel's!!

This was my second stay at Gabriel's, now the Provincetown Hotel, and once again, it was fantastic. Stayed in the main building in the Jane Goodall room - cozy, comfortable, and so nice. I love how there is an array of different rooms of various sizes/prices to allow for whatever you are looking for - a large plush apartment/suite, or a smaller but still delightful room. And the made-to-order breakfasts every morning are such a joy - makes me (not a usual morning person) actually like getting up for it! My boyfriend is usually quite particular about where he stays and about breakfast meals, and he even gives The Provincetown Hotel at Gabriel's a resounding YES!
The Elizabeths (the two owners) are just the most humble, gracious, and accommodating hostesses one could hope for.
I can't wait to return :)

Room Tip: There are four buildings around a central courtyard, 102, 102A, 104, and 104A. The 102A and 104A bu...

It was a great pleasure to have you at our luxurious, yet cozy inn right around the Carnival time. We glad we could cater to your and your boyfriend's taste. Our breakfasts are so delicious, we go to bed in the evening thinking about them.

Everything was top-notch - breakfast, staff, location, room. It was a great home base for exploring Provincetown - easy to stop-in to check on our dog or for dropping off a purchase. Way exceeded expectations!

Room Tip: Colette is a great room for dogs since has access to an enclosed deck and the next-door city park.
