In preparation for our upcoming wedding, my partner and I made reservations at Gabriels months in advance. We were very excited that we would be staying at a B&B that had such great reviews and that we had that part of the wedding/honeymoon taken care of. A few days after our wedding, we drove up the Cape and arrived at Gabriel's early in the afternoon. The woman who checked us in was very nice but seemed very sleepy. She walked us up to our penthouse room (the best room they offer. After all, this is our honeymoon!) She opened the door, pointed to the TV, and then said "there's the fireplace, you can turn it on with the thermostat on the wall". Great! We were set. Wrong. We took a nap, freshened up and got ready to go to dinner. When we left the room and tried to lock the door, we found that we couldn't. I tried for 20 minutes to no avail. I even summoned the help of one of the other guests, and they couldn't get it either. After deciding that we weren't going to let the door ruin our short stay in Provincetown, we went out to dinner. When we got back and were ready for bed, we tried to lock the door, and IT WOULD NOT LOCK from the inside either! We literally shoved our suitcases to block the door while we slept. We also tried to turn the fireplace on, to no avail. The next day, I went to the office and asked to speak to one of the "Elizabeth's". I was told she was napping. I explained the situation to the woman at the front desk and she said Elizabeth would help once she WOKE UP FROM HER NAP! I came back 2 hours later and asked to see her again. The woman at the front desk told me that Elizabeth was sick. That was an acceptable answer, so I asked the woman to help me with the door. She couldn't get the door to lock, so she called the maintenance man. After working on the door for an hour, he bolted one side of the french door down and said "don't try to open it". He also fixed the thermostat so we could turn on the fireplace. Great! Things were finally taking a turn for the better. Wrong. We left to go out that night and locked the door. It felt great. We came home and got ready to get into bed and guess what? We could not lock the door from the inside. Back went the suitcases in front of the door. The next morning I went to the office and asked to speak with Elizabeth. She was feeling better so I started to tell her the myriad of issues we had. She asked what I wanted her to do. I asked her if she would take care of one of the nights that we stayed. She said absolutely not, that Provincetown was very safe and that we were not in danger by not locking the door- but that she would give us $100 off of our bill. I asked her to try to lock our door, so we walked to the room. She COULD NOT get the door locked from the inside either, and also informed us that the fireplace shouldn't have been turned on by the maintenance man because they never ran the fireplaces this time of year. At this point, I was furious and we checked out shortly after. I cannot express my disappointment and hurt over the lack of care that Elizabeth showed us. This was our honeymoon and the lack of response and care was outrageous. As a business owner she should know better than to treat a guest this way, but as a human she should know not to treat another person with such a lack of respect. It is never okay to talk down to or argue with a customer.

We are very sorry that this guest had a bad experience because of not being able to lock her door properly and difficulties with operating the fireplace. This incident was one of those rare occasions where we had a perfect storm. Our napping was in fact a case of pneumonia and the absence of the other owner was due to a family emergency. We had tried to assist and are truly sorry that we appeared not to listen. This was never our intention. We always appreciate feedback and strive to correct misunderstandings whenever possible.

In nineteen years, we have vacationed or gotten away for a weekend twenty five times, all with the Elizabeths at Gabriel's at the Ashbrook Inn. We have always been greeted and treated like family.
The rooms are individually decorated and appointed with anything one could ask for. We have enjoyed soothing soaks in the jacuzzi tubs, relaxing with a book in the beautiful gardens, and the morning breakfast in the Great Room which can't be beat.
Our reservations have already been made for next year.

Once again, a group of us made an 8-hour trek to Gabriel's in Ptown for our yearly excursion. We have stayed at Gabriel's several times, and each time it gets better and better. We loved it so much, we even booked an extra night's stay while we were there. Pet friendly, people frendly, and extremely classy.... this is my summary of Gabriel's. We chose a delightful room with separate shower (jets abound!) and whirlpool tub. Did I mention pet friendly? Complete with dog bed and water bowl.

The breakfasts were divine, made to order. The Elizabeths extend themselves to their guests and we'd never hesitate in returning. Thanks for making our stay so memorable. We are counting down the days until our next visit. Ptown wouldn't be the same without Gabriel's.

I loved staying at Gabriels for the second time in as many years. This is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to stay in P-Town. Location, location, location is everything, and Gabriels is at the center of it all!

The breakfasts are yummy, and there is much variety for everyone!

Thanks for a terrific place to stay. I will be back next year for sure.

We went to Provincetown for the first time ever and stayed at Gabriel’s. There were so many things we liked about staying there ... firstly; it couldn't be more conveniently located! We loved walking up and down Commercial Street, and Gabriel’s is just one block off of the heart of it.
Our room (The Ariel) was terrifically comfortable with great appointments and amenities, including the best shower and whirlpool tub setup we have ever experienced.
The breakfast was delicious and the Elizabeth's and doggies couldn't have been more charming.
We often avoid staying at Bed and Breakfasts because we have commonly found depressing rooms and overbearing hosts. On the contrary we loved the overall quality and ambiance of Gabriel’s as well as our particular room and will stay there upon all returns to Provincetown.

We have been staying at Gabriel's for just about 10 years. We initially went to Gabriel's for romantic getaways, but over the years our reasons for going have changed. We now have children and we love taking them there. We have shared this wonderful place with close friends as well as our parents. too. Any one who has ever went there with us agrees that the atmosphere is welcoming and tranquil. The Innkeepers Elisabeth and Elisabeth make you feel right at home. Every room is beautifully decorated and have lots of character. Great amenities too...... One of our favorite things we look forward to is "table talk" during breakfast. Everyone gathers and talks about the days events.
Gabriel's is also centrally located in the heart of P-town. Close enough to all of the stores, restaurants, and night life, but far enough away that you can come back to your room and relax on your awesome bed with tempurpedic mattress and get a good nights sleep. We can't wait till our next time there.

Gabriel's is not to be missed when getting away to P'Town! My partner and I have found our home away from home in the arms of the Elizabeths, their son and the most wonderful staff. We have returned to Gabriel's for the last 3 summers to enjoy the consistency of the wonderfully modern accomodations (jacuzzi tubs and spa showers), expertly decorated accomodations and the "made to order" breakfasts.

"There is magic at that farm table at Gabriel's"---friendships started and renewed, memories made and dreams fulfilled. One stay at this marvelous inn will have you returning year after year as we do. Thank you to our Provincetown family---see you all next Summer!
