Most of the stores were open and having great sales. The best place to people watch. Commercial in front of Joes is under construction but expected to be finished by December 12.

I visit Provincetown a couple of times a year because it is a very fun, friendly, "anything goes", kind of place. It is friendly to those with kids, with pets...singles & couples...gay? straight? It doesn't matter, Provincetown is a place to relax and enjoy the shops, food, beaches and the quaint small town. Go there and have a blast!

We visited P'town in late October so the crowds were gone and many of the shops were into off-season hours. The lack of people was actually very refreshing as we have been there when crazy busy in summer season. Commercial Street is filled with shops of all types, restaurants, coffee shops, bars and art galleries. Absolutely a must see whether you have 1 hour or a few days in the area. Beware that some of the smaller dining and drinking establishments only take cash. Lots of ATMs around however! Many of the galleries are not open with regular hours during off season but do post their phone contact info so you can call to set up an appointment

A true artist colony with great shops. It is difficult not to spend a long time going down this street. Lots of different/fun shops and items. The shop keepers are friendly and helpful. An overall charm and just "good vibe".
