If you find yourself in Provincetown on a Sunday late afternoon plan to stop by the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House on Commercial Street for a magical musical review. They are held in the summer months and some evenings are classical and others are Broadway tunes. The review lasts about 1 1/2 hours and features local talent under the superb direction of Jon Thomas who arranges and plays the piano. Each Sunday has a theme and they are all excellent. The audiences are always great and appreciate the music so there is a lot of positive energy. It is fun to be part of the evening!
If you should arrive early and tire of looking at the shops on Commercial Street, the Meeting House has a lovely garden with benches that you can use to wait.
You hear local talent (most professional) belt out some of your favorite Broadway tunes and you also hear some not so well known songs. It never fails that I leave in awe of the talent one gets to experience for a very nominal fee that hasn't changed in 8 years - $15.00 and $10 for seniors. Doors open at about 4:45 pm and there will be a short line that moves very quickly. It is just perfect to go to hear wonderful music and then get out before the dinner crowd and have a nice dinner on Sunday evening overlooking the water. Life doesn't get much better.
