“Serene, clean and beautiful ocean views”
Reviewed 24 July 2011

We wandered to this beach usually visiting beaches in the lower-mid cape area, which have lots of shells and seaweed. Not Race Point! The sand is soft and clean, the water blue and all around, just a nice beach to spend the day. I am told that sometimes you can see the whales, especially in the morning.

“A gem of a beach!!!”
Reviewed 19 July 2011

This is my favorite beach in the Cape Cod National Seashore. You get your first view of the water on your walk from the parking lot through the gorgeous dunes. (Along the marked paths!). Beach is clean, quite wide and rarely crowded. We saw seals in the water during each visit this year and the small waves were perfect for young children boogie boarding most days.

“Beautiful beach with amazing wildlife”
Reviewed 7 July 2011

We had a great day! We saw whales and seals as the water was quite calm that day. Bring your binoculars so you can see it all. Be aware its quite a hike up the dunes to the parking lot so plan the things you plan to bring accordingly.

“Best beach on Cape Cod.”

I saw Race Point, Nauset Light, Coast Guard, Nauset, and Chatham beaches. I liked this one because of the spectacular views and seals.

“Race Point is one of the most breathtaking beaches in the world.”
Reviewed 8 October 2009

Once you arrive, the sun, the dunes, the tall grean grass, the Atlantic Ocean is yours. It's simply clean and beautiful. Take off your sandles as you walk from the parking lot to the beach. Feel the hot white, plush sand beneath your feet.. You move slower now in this place of sand and water. Choose a spot to lay your blanket where there are fewer people so you can hear the waves lapping the shore. Take a walk along the shore and pick up some colored stones or differnt kinds if seaweed. Everything is ocean-clean. Go for a swim! Throw a frisbee for the dog. By all means snap some photos. The sand dunes, the water, the tall green grass are a rare sight that you will want to always remember.
Race Point is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. If you have time, walk to the nearby lighthouse, and look at the trails and the other beaches which are close by but better saved for another day.
If you travel by car, you need to arrive early at Race Point, at least be 10 AM. If you rent or live nearby, consider biking instead. Bring an orange or a peach.
