Our stay at Carpe Diem was wonderful. They took care of our restaurant and spa reservations before we arrived, and made excellent recomendations. We don't normally stay in B&Bs because we like a lot of privacy, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the Carpe Diem - we had a private entrance, and the staff was warm, welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. Our room was even better than described on the website- cozy and comfy, tastefully decorated and roomy. There were a lot of extra touches that make you want to return - a wine and cheese hour, expresso and port wine available for self service 24 hours a day, the cozy robes in the rooms, I could go on. They were accomodating with the check out time because our ferry was not leaving for several hours, a big plus. We would highly recommend it.

Beautiful rooms, warm, friendly staff, and a fantastic breakfast too!! This was our third stay at the Carpe Diem. These guys consistently turn out great hospitality. Every time we have stayed, we really enjoyed the company of the other guests also .

It was a dream get away, Carpe Diem made my Provincetown vacation even more lovely than I could imagine. The town itself being so wonderful, I did not think anything could make it more enjoyable, but they did. The people were amazingly friendly, including the guests and the breakfasts were unlike anything I have ever experienced, the whole nine, they made us feel like family, and treated us with true hospitality. Thank you Carpe Diem for an amazing time!

My partner and I have stayed at a lot of different places in Provincetown, but none quite as relaxing and peaceful as the Carpe Diem. We booked a one-night stay just to tear ourselves away from the landscaping projects under way at home, and we couldn't have picked a better spot in which to unwind. From the Zen-like calm of the courtyard to the windswept view offered by our private balcony off the Oscar Wilde room, the Carpe Diem was just what we wanted. It's the kind of place that fosters friendships, even if only for a night or a weekend. The five-o'clock cheese hour allowed us to meet some of the other guests, who we will always remember as a part of our special stay. Although we didn't get to meet all the owners during our stay, we can say that the staff is top-notch, especially Herbie, who entertained us with his tales, and made a dinner reservation for us at the lovely Mews. Even though we stayed for only one night, we parted with the sense of sorrow that comes from saying goodbye to a good friend.

As for the previous reviewer's noise comment, I can only say that that was not our experience at all, and clearly the management cannot be held responsible for rude guests. We were told there was a number we could call at all hours in the event of a real problem, and we did not have the feeling at all that this was the sort of place where management cannot be found when needed.

And one other footnote: the breakfast was delicious, and the rates very reasonable. We would highly recommend the Carpe Diem to any of our friends.

We have been going to Carpe Diem for three years now..... never a complaint. "The Boys" are wonderful and always make us feel at home. We are greated usually by Herbie as we are arriving and we know we are in for a good time. The rooms are beautiful and the addition is amazing. The breakfast is to die for!! My partner and I love P-Town and Carpe Diem makes it even better. Thanks Boys!!! See you in October!!

We wanted a relaxing quiet weekend getaway, but it simply did not happen. We had a very nice large room, especially for a Provincetown guesthouse. The Staff were all very nice and helpful. The problem was
our room faced directly onto the whirlpool tub. The rulebook left in the guestrooms clearly state that the hours for the tub are 9AM to 9PM (in bold lettering). We were already in bed at 10:00PM, when at 11:00PM, a group of very loud guests decided to take a whirpool. They were laughing, and talking extremely loud, and were out in the tub for 45 minutes, almost to midnight. We went to call the front desk, however, the desk closed at 9PM. There should be a sign posted over the tub with the hours, or the guesthouse should lock the cover at closing time, which would have prevented other guests from utilizing the tub. A nice quiet relaxing weekend was ruined. There are some many guesthouses in Provincetown to choose from. We will not be coming back to stay at Carpe Diem.

We are very sorry for the negative experience this guest had during his stay.
We have connected a new building to our guesthouse and are in the process of adding a Spa for our guests with Massage room, Finish Sauna & Hamam. The hot tub that caused the disturbance is being moved to this new spa location and was for that reason not in it's usual condition.
Unfortunately some guests do not respect the privacy of others or guidelines laid out by the management and are not considerate enough to lower the volume during evening hours.
Even though our front desk is closed after 9pm we do have a night manager on site that can be reached by a number posted in several places in our guest rooms. It would have been easy for the guests to either call the manager and have him settle the situation or simply open the door to their cottage and ask the fellow guests to quiet down.
We do everything to exceed our guests expectations and apologize for any inconvenience caused by trying to add more wellness amenities for our guests.

Our stay at Carpe Diem was wonderful and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

We received a warm welcome from all of the team. As other reviews have mention, Jurgen’s breakfasts are fantastic, shared with other guests around a large table. Herbie’s restaurant advice and ability to secure tables at short notice was also invaluable.

The late afternoon wine and cheese gatherings gave us an opportunity to meet the other guests and discuss what everyone had been up to during the day. It almost felt like being part of an extended family, which made our stay very special.

The location could not be better – just off the main street and within a couple of minutes walk of the shops, restaurants and the wharf where the excellent whale whatching trips depart.

Construction work on a second building to extend the guesthouse was almost complete during our stay. This will give an extra 4 guest rooms which should keep it small enough to retain the friendly atmosphere and make breakfast and the wine & cheese afternoons even more interesting.
