“Just ok but pricey”
Reviewed 19 August 2014 via mobile

Located about 30 mins walk from town but enjoyed being out of the centre a little. Good bus service every half hour until midnight for $2.
Room was $199 plus tax and rollaway bed extra $25 which adds up to a lot. Very basic room with small bath shower. Not that clean with hairs left around. Staff mixed but Keith at the pool was the best and couldn't do enough. Very happy character. Pool good and big but not heated so a bit cold. Breakfast was nice at 4.95 continental. Overall a 3 star old style hotel worth less money but it's an expensive town to stay as the season is short.

Your perspective on your recent stay at the Harbor Hotel Provincetown is greatly appreciated. It’s great that the service you received at our Cabana Bar was exceptional. In addition to our breakfast buffet being a great value, we have discounted rates and packages available on our website, and we hope you’ll take advantage of one the next time you visit Provincetown. For future visits, we suggest taking advantage of one of our suites; they’re much larger and offer more of the amenities that you may be looking for.

Sincerely,

We were checked-in next door where we were obligated to stay for the first night - dumpy! Robert at the front desk at Harbor Hotel was wonderful, booked us for our last two nights and was very professional, courteous, and helpful throughout our entire stay....Thanks Robert!!
We really enjoyed PTown once our luggage arrived...and the hotel was clean and comfortable - pool was a little too cold - brrr!

This hotel has great views of the ocean. Fire pit very relaxing. Hit or miss with the staff. Keith at the cabana bar wonderful. Robert who checked us in seemed pre occupied with whatever was happening with the police and the other agent standing next to us rather than just checking us in and providing that great 1st impression. Bed is comfy- no mattress pads very odd. Floors in guest room seemed dirty but were clean. Maybe add a washable area rug to warm up the room a bit... It was a holiday inn and you can tell it was. The retro vibe is cool but needs to be kept up. Rust on conduit inside the guest room is an easy fix with some paint at least... Bathroom vanity was updated in a nice way the actual shower toilet not touched since it was a Holiday Inn....
Nice in room coffee maker and television.

For PTown it's a pretty decent choice. A nice walk to town as long as it's not too hot

Thank you for your input on your recent stay at the Harbor Hotel Provincetown. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed unwinding at the end of the day by our fire pits before retiring in one of our comfortable beds. The flooring in our guest rooms is eco-friendly, which is why there is a variation in color. We’ve shared your photos with our maintenance team so they can address one of the issues you’ve mentioned, and we’ll be sure to go over your review with our check-in staff as well. It would be a pleasure to serve you again on a future visit.

They are doing the best they can and for this they get B+. It's just a really substandard operation. The renovations are 'c' grade as is cleanliness, organization, training, professionalism, hospitality etc..but my gosh you can tell they are giving their all

Room was nice, as expected, kind of basic, not fancy but totally fine, cute, clean, mid century modern styling and modern tv w/ lots of channels and a little fridge too which was helpful. Pool was great and there was a nice field of grass right outside our room for our dog to run around and play and kids to play. We at at the pool one night, food was very good, casual, kids liked it a lot too. Bartender/ waiter at pool was very welcoming and service was great. The lobby also has a complimentary lemonade for guests at all times, which was refreshing and the kids really liked that. There is a fire pit in the front of hotel, overlooking beautiful beach directly across street w/ unobstructed views. Firepit has circle of adirondack chairs around it, so relaxing to sit and watch sunset there. We did not have continental breakfast, it looked a little anemic. We walked back and forth into town several times, and arrived by our boat but there was plenty of parking. Our dog was welcome but the initial front desk staff when we checked in seemed shocked and annoyed we brought the dog in, even though we reserved a dog friendly room? That was odd... There is a shuttle bus you can take from the center of P-town that is very accessible and inexpensive if you need it. The walk is pretty if you can do that instead, takes about 20 minutes to walk into town, so hotel/motel is not right in heart of center but it was just right for us and our needs. We would stay there again, with or without dog

Room Tip: one of my kids could get on wifi with their phone, but I could not on my cell, and cell service was...

We would love to have you back soon at the Harbor Hotel Provincetown! It’s great to learn that everyone in the family had a blast relaxing by the pool during the day and the fire pit at night. Please know that we love all of our guests, especially our four-legged friends. We apologize about the mishap at check-in; by law, because we offer food in the lobby area, pets are unfortunately not allowed. Thank you for letting us know about your stay.
